It's almost impossible to get the hinge halves aligned to get the pin in. I only took one lower one out, and I finally gave up trying to get the pin back in, so I took the truck side hinge half off just to get the pin in.

I do this too in similar situations, definitely good idea. It helps too if you cut a screwdriver slot in the end, ease of install and removal if they get bound up.
Not a "head wrench",
Off-set adapter for access to one of the head bolts. Store bought (shown) or homemade.
Search for Deuce head bolt wrench.

I can always seem to easily find what other people are looking for, but I struggle finding what I'm looking for.
