My local Ace Hardware had them. I never knew until yesterday when I need just one more hose clamp. Had to modify my whole plan:-D for the better, otherwise there is a funny loop in the line somewhere.
But that is why I was wondering if gear oil might get pushed up the lines, and then just...
If I end up really liking this setup, then I'll have to get back under there and add real hose clamps. For now I am avoiding drilling new holes in my truck for a system that I may not be totally in love with.... But my truck inspector like it, right before he fell asleep!
I just got done replacing my axle vents with rubber lines. Next step is to check and repack bearing that have been washed out by 90w gear oil.
Anyway, I took some pictures along the way and the mod was "easy" to do if you are small enough to sit under the truck and wiggle in around the rear...
As a backup plan, I have space in Vandalia OH.
I have enough space to add a whole fleet to my "lonesome" Deuce.
If you need something, PM me and we can talk.
I had the same fuel line problem. My line was replaced with plastic, and rubbed on another line (from the oil cooler ?) Anyway, it made that same shaped cut. It had a tiny round hole in the center, like it was made with a drill bit.
For those who end up looking for a similar problem on their...
My only grip with the pole system, is that it catches on everything. Tree limbs, garage doors, the moon... the state made me put a blinking light on it to keep airplanes safe. But thats the way it came from the military, so I haven't messed with it. Yet.
Height wise it works fine when pulled...
Sorry fellas, all of these are on the net.
Tomorrow when I get a chance I'll upload 'em to the site.
For now use your finger, and click the links:-P
I have to admit I've never taken a picture of just the antenna, or its mount.
This one belongs to Allan... I've got to have someone to...
Yep, I was looking at them also. I could find a use for a new one... and crazily enough I could probably sell my old one for 500 bucks
However, I was also hoping to get them for less. Guess I'll have to break down and spend the money if there is another one out there.
I have an extended cover, and can't decide if I like it or not.
When I get somewhere, its perfect, and I have the coolest camper, sans an M109 box.
But traveling down the road the extra height pushes a lot of wind (just barely noticeable) and worst of all for me, I can't travel with my Antenna...
I should have come over also, and just driven the car.... I'm having transmission troubles. Seems that I have the typical 2nd/3rd gear blues. I think the synchronizers are failing.
My Flashers work without the Accessory Switch 'ON'
Although you do have to turn the headlight switch to 'SERVICE LIGHT' that allows the flashers and brake lights to work (not that you'll be using the brakes with just your lonesome)
For that matter do the brake lights work at all, if there is...
It isn't hard to learn. My first 'stick' was a Deuce!
It might take longer to master these trucks. But its at least simple.
PS. my other car is a little tin can, dodge. So I can into this without any real understanding of the beast.
Thanks for a warm welcome.
And the trucks been a real sweetie. I wasn't 100% sure she was going to make it with the fuel line leaking and the transmission howling.
However, with the leak fixed, and the rest working like a charm, then I guess that's the way things work.
She's a good candidate...
No I didn't repaint anything. I used an M35a2, and here is a mini story attempt to describe it. Nothing fancy, just a road trip in a deuce.
Back in early May, I started out near Lawrence KS, and drove, and drove, and drove..... to Ohio. It took about 18 hours of traveling, and about 25 days...
The temp sender I showed is for the ether injector. Even snapped off it still works until it gets hot from sitting on the engine.
I'm just not a fan of the military's choice in ether starters. They seem to over apply the silly stuff.
Its a bummer the flame heaters are junk too.
I guess I'll...
I've got an older truck, that has been updated over the years... Currently it is wired up with a (Broken) ether injector. The little sensor snapped off, I guess I should just hot wire it now.
However, I pretty sure it also has a flame heater. It has the little high pressure pump on top of the...
