I used (80 grit closed coat) 6" on my DA from harbor freight (cheap)as I Cut in to the carc smoothed out with 3m closed coat till I had a smooth surface.
Talked with some other streetrodders and they put mint oil in there cars on rags and keeps mice out . He owns some high end cars and said he never had a mice problem. Like you also mine will not be on the road but it will plow my drive way truck has no rust and would like to keep it that way.
Yes spend the extra for good glow plugs..If you buy the cheap ones the money you saved you will use to buy the glowplug puller trust me on this spent an evening pulling injectors to get 8 swelled plugs out.2cents
Maintenance has so many meanings ..LOL..going for an oil change, tire rotation, carwash. I would hope nobody would pull you over...and if they did it won't be for speeding. Keep the truck
