    M-series flasher relay - civvy conversion how-to

I recently had my original taillight short out, and melt part of the housing. The gasket between the 2 halves was in bad shape, and let water in. It filled with water and corroded enough to short. In my hobbiest mind, I decide to upgrade instead of just replace. So I look into the military...

    nchittendons m105 camper kick off

Thanks guys. For the most part the project is on hold now until next spring. We'll see how it holds up during winter (heavy snow) and see what improvements need to be made in the spring. I am going to try to source a couple of 5 ton storage boxes that I can mount under the front of the...

    nchittendons m105 camper kick off

I work 3rd shift for a company, and get done with work at 0430 (scheduled). Usually not done until about 0600. We had a quarterly meeting come up recently, and the meeting was at 10:00. So, i took my truck/trailer to work with me, showered at work after my shift, and took a quick snooze in...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

After letting Soldier "B" and "D" (C was unavailable at the time) do an inspection, we took the truck to my work for a company picnic that offered truck rides. About 400 people through and she never skipped a beat.

New Wisconsin show/rally Aug 12th, Central Wisconsin Military Show

Nice write up! That's all I needed to know! Plenty of toilets. - This is a big selling point right here. Were they bathroom facilities, or portajohns? cheese curds and stuff for the kids. - WOAH! I'm out if only the kids can have cheese curds. Oops, scratch that. My son said we are...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Took a 120 mile one way trip to go camping. I'm slowly converting my M105 to a camper for my boys and I. Truck ran great! Camper is working out really well. Found some local spots to take some pics.

    nchittendons m105 camper kick off

Did some more work in preparation for this coming weekend. Got my front window installed. Got the trailer boxed in on the sides and roof. Got the trailer insulated. Also started running wire for outlets. Will have more pics once these tasks are completed. Still need to finish wiring...

    nchittendons m105 camper kick off

Excellent question. So, try to follow my thought process as it derails regularly...... 1) at first just had the truck. first thought was to convert the back into a mobile camper rig. I was inspired by Jenn's 5 ton that John built. Stared at those pictures for hours. But then I hauled my...

    nchittendons m105 camper kick off

Thank you. I am very blessed indeed. My boys are 10, 5, and now 9 months for the little guy. The older ones are super polite, and respectful, and we get compliments everywhere we go. I never got the TM, so I can only assume i'm doing it right.

    nchittendons m105 camper kick off

Well, we had our maiden voyage! Quite a few things learned, but an overall success in my book. I don't have the skills/tools/resources that some of you artists do, but I think our little camper is shaping up nicely. Feel free to comment, or throw suggestions my way. I'm always open to new...

    nchittendons m105 camper kick off

I decided a while ago that I was going to turn my M105 into a camper. At that point, it was myself, my wife, and my 2 boys. At the time, they were 8 and 3. So, I started with this.... My deuce is tan, so I decided to switch it over as soon as possible. Got the trailer for $500. During the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Took her to work. Longest trip since the new rims/tires. I think it was a whole 7 miles. Part with stop/go traffic. Main leg with 50 mph limit. No issues to report. Got to work and temped the hubs. 80 degrees solid, all around. I think I've actually done something right!

    Just bought my first Deuce!!

Thank you! I try to take pride in my work. It's taken me longer to get the whole thing done, but I won't do it unless I can do it right. Finished up on Thursday, and left town on a trip early Friday morning.

    Just bought my first Deuce!!

Today, in between the rain drops I was able to get one more hub done. 2 left to go. With the wheels already off and the tools already out, I've got a hub flip, clean, and re-pack down to 2 hours.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I am flipping the hubs for dish in. Now the rear wheels will match the front wheels and all track the same. And everything has fit perfectly.

M35a2 Hub Flip Tips and Lessons Learned

Started this job last week. I'll start my "tips" from before the axle nuts... 1) do yourself a favor and already own a 1" impact with larger airline. If you don't (like myself) go on Amazon and order a torque multiplier. Probably the most amazing tool you'll ever own. Got mine for $69...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Although slow going, I made some progress on the hub flip friday. Hope to have more done this week. The write up on XM says "easy job with simple hand tools." Ha, bite me. Not a "hard" job, but you need more than simple hand tools.
