Need help buying a Deuce not sure its the right buy!!!!!!!!!

ReoRider gave a couple of us a different perspective of gassers vs. multi-fuels at Sussex in April. His take was that the gassers of the period were well-tested over the road engines proven for high mileages, whereas the multi-fuels were put together because they'd burn near anything. That...

I Should Stay Off the [private owner] Auction Sites I got in when it was at $67.00 OK, so I went ape and paid about 80% more than that. And .59 cents. One Deuce, so many lunettes, just one pintle. OK: 2 counting the Econoline. Steve

Second heavy truck FT750w m45a2 fire truck 1975

Some guesses: It should be based on the M35/M44 series. If there is not carburetor, it's most likely a multifuel. Look for a tag on the engine on the passenger's side, about 1/3 of the way back and down low enough that it's hard to read. That should tell you. M44, M45, and M46 are chassis...

Need help buying a Deuce not sure its the right buy!!!!!!!!!

Think that gasser will make it to the classifieds so one of us opinionated ideologues can buy it? Steve (since I'm in NJ, I get to skate because of shipping costs)

Need help buying a Deuce not sure its the right buy!!!!!!!!!

:ditto: I, too, encourage you not to embark on a life of crime. A well-restored REO gasser, esp. one starting from a good base, is good for the hobby and harder to find than one of the several options that have been mentioned for a beef-up/bob-job. I see trucks offered constantly where prices...

The worst news in blighty today

When I 1st started to get interested, the videos of this show (yes, including your truck) were what really lit me up. There is a void. Perhaps someone will choose to fill it. I hope. Steve

Getting the old girl started again

Really like your truck. Behr does make a DTM (direct to metal) product in semi-gloss, which is what I suspect that you want. I'd take the formula from the link above to HD and see what they can come up with. It'll save you a day or so (at the very least) waiting for red oxide to flash off...

    Something for me to remember

I remember the clip and your truck well. It was one of the videos I watched repeatedly while I was cranking myself up to buy my Deuce. I think I've seen every one of the W&P videos multiple times. Now I can say that one of the stars is a kind of acquaintance. BTW, I think you're at about...

    M35A2 Brake Service Questions

I've driven mine in a pinch blocked as you describe. I carry the plugs as an emergency kit. That said: Take it easy, no load, leave lots of room in front, and hope another one doesn't blow. Get someplace to do the work and fix it. There's a big difference when 33.3% of your brakes ain't there...

    Show us your Military Trailers

Pole trailers and bolster trailers are very cool. Last summer I came across one that found its way to a utility. I wanted the Ling's crew to warm to the idea of using one for a torpedo parade float, but . . . Steve

    My 1963 M37B!

Point being, it's not something you post on a public website visited by Google - for a bunch of reasons, not the least of which is the good and welfare of your ex-unit buddies. At one level or another, it's theft of goobermint property. Steve
