What a great combo this is. A guy that admits to knowing nothing about these trucks and after a few post thinks he knows enough to be a wise a**. Then to top it off he has one of the most unstable conversions of these trucks that can be prone to roll overs and other safety concerns. I think...
Sounds like you should contact them. I have had 2 sets on my dually and my wrangler and have bad no problems with them. Seems like you may have had a bad batch or something. I love their tires and will run the. Anytime something I have needs new rubber.
I would like to bid on some items at Fort Carson but would like to get a visual inspection of their condition before bidding. If anyone can help please PM me. Thanks for any help this is such a great place.
More detail of the cut out in the front cross member would be great I have been wanting to do the same conversion. The lack of having something big enough to lift the engine in and out several times to get the mock up and fab done has been a major part of putting it off. I would have to rent a...
If you are on the east coast by April 26'27 there is an awesome show/ swap meet/ rally at the Sussex county fairgrounds. It is put on by the MTA and has only gotten bigger and better every year. http://www.mtaswapmeet.com/
TPK- Yes the truck in my avatar is one of my trucks. I would like to try selling it. So if you are ever interested feel free to PM me. As far as the Sussex show it is by far the best out of the three I go to. Every year so far it keeps getting bigger and better. I will be there from Wed...
When I got my M915 the grill guard and grill shell had been smashed in. Once I looked it over I didn't think the factory one was stout enough for the truck. It really looked puny on it. So I went with some heavy 2"x10" 1/4" C channel for the bumper. The center and end uprights are 3"x2" 3/16"...
There is no reason not to use an ex military truck for any kind of fire apparatus. I am tired of reading all these horror stories of how dangerous they are and should never be used. I have been on a volunteer dept. for 13 years and I bet I could roll out pierce engine if I was to drive like and...
Those blocks in my mind are an accident and law suit waiting to happen. There have been plenty of safe ways demonstrated on this site as far as bobbing and lifting trucks and I would say this is not one of them.
Posting up part numbers for both conversions would be great. Does the throttle pedal make a huge difference? Mine is out of my M923 right now and I may go the air route if it is worth it and noticable.
There are usually stops to not allow the crane to ratate a full 360 degrees. Mine is set so when you swing the crane to the front of the truck it stops at the front cornerns of the hood. Just wanted to make sure you have those stops at the front or you wont be able to sweep over the bed from...
Did you figure out where the rotating stops where in the crane before mounting it? My hiab was setup so that the outriggers where to the rear of the truck and the controls were on the driver side.
Are you refering to not washing before plasti dipping? That is about the only prep you have to do before spraying it. Just wash it let it dry completely and then spray away. If you do some google and you tube searches there are some good tutorials about the enitre process.
