    My first truck

Thats a pretty good deal these days. I wouldn't worry too much about the flapper. There is a LOT of room in that pipe before water gets near anything of value. However as steelandcanvas said if it IS stuck you best keep everyone well clear of the passenger side. Darned thing is like a soot-water...

    My first truck

Congrats on the new truck. I think you can assume the runs with a jump is true, that or the flapper on the stack is stuck cause its up in one of those pics!!! Don't assume its safe to drive though, be thorough and check it over really well before taking it out on the open road. Good luck and...

    Deuce driving tips

Watch where you are standing and whats on your boots if you are just cranking it up for a little pre drive warm up. Had left foot on the step and right foot in the cab to give it a little gas. Went to turn and dismount and... Muddy boots + steel steps do not = traction. Doing the splits...

Can you have too much oil pressure?

There ya go, much better. Some good readings you got there, must be a nice tight engine. Now just get the right sender and you will be all set.

Can you have too much oil pressure?

I would venture a guess that perhaps the sender and the gauge are not matched. If you have the 0-60 sender and a 0-120 gauge you would have readings similar to yours. I would first double check your readings with a good mechanical gauge and report back. Looks like someone beat me the the answer...

    pan gasket

Its what i use on everything and what i would use in this case. Nice even layer on the pan, nice even layer on the block, get everything all lined up with the gasket and you are good to go.

    Transfer cases

As poppop said when they worked ok great but when they don't.... You can adjust them fairly easily with 2 people and then they SHOULD work fairly reliably. The good deal with the airshift is when you need front wheel drive (and this is usually when the ___ hits the fan traction wise) you just...

    What part in this???

Just a wee bit of advice and a welcome. Might not be a good idea to go poking a mod who has been here roughly forever as is indicated by his 24K + posts. Hes a nice guy but still, ya know not such a great idea if you intend to hang around. I do believe there is a sticky on posting of images, its...

Deuce cranks but no start - ITP source?

Heres to hoping its something simple (it prob is) like the fuse to the ITP is blown and you never had reason to check it. They do run with no ITP but bleeding the system is not going to happen without it, at least not quickly and without great difficulty. Best of luck

M35A1 to sell or not to sell ??

Well ya see, i would entirely buy it a companion but the GF whom i love very much and who makes way more money than me kinda wants me saving for a house more so than buying more heavy hunks of iron i already have nowhere to park. I kinda sorta have to agree that it is a wee bit crowded as it is...

M35A1 to sell or not to sell ??

Gotcha loud and clear WM and i'm not so much trying to sell it in the forum. Theres the classified section for that i'm just trying to judge if there is anyone actually willing to buy the darned thing for its collector value. That and to see what in the heck that value might be. IF its not worth...

found m35a1 what am I in for

Certainly not raggin on ya, it runs and thats a BIG first step. Had to disassemble then reassemble then disassemble and finally just replace the injection pump on mine as it had been sitting a long time much like yours. They sound a bit different and IMO better than the ldt 465's, the side pipe...

found m35a1 what am I in for

VERY nice, working brakes sure do make things more fun. Seems a little low on power in both vids, my A1 feels considerably quicker than my A2. New fuel filters and a clean out of the airfilter may be in order.

M35A1 to sell or not to sell ??

ok, so 5 days and plenty of views but not one comment. Is is something i said??? Do i need a breath mint??

    Solargizer question.

I would imagine a battery disconnect on the ground would have limited if no effect since the solargizer is hooked straight to the battery. The red light on mine is too dim to be seen in direct light, need to shade it to see that its on but its quite sufficient to keep things well maintained with...

What is this fuel tank from?

Done properly its no big deal. To start with diesel isn't the most flammable stuff on earth and it you clean the tank well and purge it with something inert (argon, co2/argon blend, co2, nitrogen) there should be about 0% chance of anything at all happening other than the hole being closed up...

M35A1 to sell or not to sell ??

Hmm, so its not going to be former mil i guess, seems only the 2206's were used. Well, still a very cool old beast of a truck. 2 days and no comments just a lot of views.....odd. Don't be shy....

What is this fuel tank from?

I would avoid the JB weld if at all possible, that stuff seems to let go at the most inopportune times. Just clean and purge the tank really well and weld it up. No worries about it having an issue ever again. Looks to be in the same spot one of my deuce tanks leaked. Right where the rails that...

M35A1 to sell or not to sell ??

Hey guys, its been a bit. I'm tossing around the idea of selling the M35A1 affectionately known as the plow deuce. Its a basically unmolested 1960 studebaker built A1, LDS427-2, the hinged mudflaps, pretty much all there. It runs, plows like a BEAST and starts regardless of temp. Has a uniquely...
