CUCV Build... Here We Go Again...

Well, back to the grind... I have most of the cab body work done now after sandblasting... If this is looking a little backwards it’s because we’re trying to leave the front clip intact as long as possible.... which isn’t going to last MUCH longer! So basically at this point the cab rearward...

convert M1010 electical to 12V details

Click the link... No bolts... Easily found at Napa, Advanced, etc... I suggest using locktite (blue) as well.

CUCV Build... Here We Go Again...

IIG ... The nice thing about these is when you open them up your covering as much as you possibly can with a single radio... being that you have dual antenna mounts on the truck and can have 2 antennas, toss in the tuner and your set. Repeater function for talk abouts... and if you had to you...

convert M1010 electical to 12V details

Yeah I strongly recommend that you DON'T convert the truck to 12V... You get into the "one off" category and will have zero help when you need it. Problems are to be expected with a 20 something year old truck. I would say 75% of the electrical issues with CUCV's are OWNER INFLICTED problems...

    Help with CUCV

Also check the starter... Had the same problem with mine and it left Kenny stranded a few times. Turned out the starter rear was falling off the nose cone assy. Installed a gear reducted unit and man are they NICE!

CUCV Build... Here We Go Again...

Well the color is dead on... The paint is Sherwin Williams Genius line of automotive paint (urethane). If you ever want to use it expect about a weeks wait for a store to get it in… It’s a flat "hotrod" base mixed to the CARC 383 Green color... After all the work I did on the deuce and the money...

    Bad Glow Plug Control Card?

The above mentioned button/switch thingo will bypass it all but still may not fix the problem. Many things like oil weight, IP condition, laging starters, etc can affect starting conditions so if the plugs are actually cycling (use multi meter, check voltage to plugs, dont guess) if you have...

need electrical help with m1009 alternators

IMHO... That is the absolute WORST thing anyone can do to a CUCV... How many hundreds of postings are there about "I converted my truck to 12V and now its broke and no one can help me fit it" ... leave well enough alone. These systems are SO SIMPLE to work on... All one needs to do is pick up...

CUCV Build... Here We Go Again...

Pic marked up and sent... Sweet! That will save me a heap of work trying to recreate parts! On the support system... Yeah kinda... Kenny (damn him) gave me the idea of running rails up the side windows to put in a tool rack and somewhere to mount the highlift inside... Being that the windows...

    Anybody replaced the alternator brushes?

Forget brushes... You better get some high output alternators, those poor things are only rated for 80 -100 amps.
