    M116A3 Tilt Bed

Here are the pictures after the new paint job. Now it is ready to load the cartons of supplies when I go exploring out in the wilderness. I am going to get a spare tire and mount it under the bed. Modifications include: Narrowing the fenders and widening the bed by 18 inches. Replacing the...

    M116A3 Tilt Bed

I tilted one of mine so the painter could paint the frame. I will take pictures tomorrow. My usage is to haul camping equipment behind our Jeep when we go exploring. It does not need to tilt. I do have a M116A3 that I modified for wood hauling, and it would be nice to tilt, but if it will damage...

    M116A3 Tilt Bed

After finding out that the M116A3 trailers are tilt bed, I removed the two bolts and tilted one of our trailers. What I found is that the wiring is to short for maximum tilt. I released the wiring to allow the tilt, but then when I returned the bed back to level, the holes would not line up to...

    Air Show/Car Show/Military Vehicle Display.

Rick007 had some really nice Military equipment there. I plan on making the parade on the 8th, if I can get someone that is licensed to drive our M923A2.

    Air Show/Car Show/Military Vehicle Display.

Last weekend, Redding California had a Air Show which also displayed Military Vehicles. We had our M923A2 along with two others. Also in the display was a M1070 along with many other vehicles. Here are a few. There were 31 Military Vehicles there, not counting Aircraft. Our M923A2 is in the...

    M116A3 Wood Trailer

No, my wood trailer has the stock distance between the wheel wells. Our altered trailer is wider. I am still waiting for the painter to come and paint it. See below.

    M116A3 Wood Trailer

Yes the sides are 48 inches. Ken is right, that if you get to much weight to high, and made a sudden turn, it might not be good. My wood source is only two miles away, and I needed the four foot sides to hold the entire cord of wood. Replacing the 37x12.5 tires with a less balloon type tire...

    M116A3 Wood Trailer

Thanks; Yes the parking brakes are a plus. I am not sure how much a cord of oak weighs, but the trailer did fine getting it home.

    M116A3 Wood Trailer

I have already modified one so that I can haul extra fuel, water, fishing gear, camping supplies, etc. Our 2014 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited has enough room in the back to sleep one person and a dog. Wife would rather stay home, unless we bring the 5th wheel with bathroom, sink, shower, refrigerator...

    M116A3 Wood Trailer

Here are pictures of our M116A3 with wood sides, holding one cord of oak wood. These trailers make great wood haulers. For those who want to adapt a 12 volt four plug system. 22-460 wire goes to green, right turn signal 24-461 wire goes to yellow, left turn signal. 21-489 wire goes to brown...

Gen set trailers What M #? Has anyone got a SF97 for a Gen Set Trailer from GL??

We have three M116a3 trailers and one M1101 trailer. I did not check to see if the drums and brake shoes were the same when I greased the bearings on both trailers. I did see that the seals and the bearings were the same. INNER BEARING KOYO HI-CAP 25580-N OUTER BEARING KOYO HI-CAP...

September 27th and 28th 2014. Last Air Show, one of the most visited attraction was the military exhibit. So this year they are expanding to about 30 vehicles ranging from a 1942 Jeep with machine guns to a M1070. We will bring our M923a2.

    M116a3 types of beds?

L.A. is about 600 miles south of us. We have a Home Depot here, that should have what we need. Also a Steel Supply that has stake pockets. I am going around today to get the needed supplies for the build. Thanks for all your help and suggestions.

    M116a3 types of beds?

Thanks, I did not know about the M101A2 or M101A3 having the same frame. I will look into those beds. I have been looking into adding stake pockets. If I remove the outer removable fender on the M116a3, it would create a straight line for adding stake pockets and building side rails. Thanks again.

    M116a3 types of beds?

Has anyone seen a bed like what is on a M1101, on a M116 trailer? I have done some searches and see the flatbed, or just the chassis. I am looking into using one of our M116a3 trailers to haul firewood, but to do that you need sides, preferably four foot sides. Has anyone here modified one to...
