    What is this cable?

I love when you buy these trucks with covers on them, and find treasures inside:-) I bought this M925A1 from a private party. First time I'd done that. In the past, my other ones all came from GL. But, this guy bought this truck 3 years ago through GL in Washington, had it hauled home, and...

    What is this cable?

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. Doesn't look like something that would be anywhere on this truck. Still curious as to what it does go to though. ha ha

    What is this cable?

I found this brand new cable laying on the floor of my newly acquired 1987 M925A1. It still had protective plastic taped on the ends when I found it. I can't see where on the truck it would go. The truck was overhauled at Red River Army Depot in 01/2005. I found this big stack of...

Hand throttle idle problem with NHC-250. RPM's rise after a minute or two.

That's very interesting. Sounds like the vibrations are causing the linkage to tighten further and increasing the engine speed. Can you tell if the handle actually moves further out on its own, or does the handle itself stay in the same spot?

Water in oil in M925A1 - New addition

Okay, got the head off, and the piston and broken liner out. Still not entirely sure what happened, but it appears that something bad happened.... Ha ha. But seriously..... Now that I examine the parts real closely... I can see that there is a lot of gouging to the inside of the...

Tinting side windows - did you fully remove the window?

It really is not very difficult at all the take the windows out. You just take that panel off the lower part of the door, and with the window rolled down part way, you can easily get to the screws that are holding it in, and once you have those out, you just lift it straight up and out. I've...

Water in oil in M925A1 - New addition

Well here's what I found. Dropped the oil pan this evening..........and discovered that sure enough, only the bottom section of the Number 6 cylinder liner broke off, so I did not have a wild, uninhibited connecting rod and piston bashing around in there. I am so incredibly relieved! All of...

Water in oil in M925A1 - New addition

Well, the truck got delivered this afternoon. Went great! Used an air hose I made up to charge the air brake system using the delivering trucks air system so that we could offload safely with foot brake even though the parking/driveline brake was working good. Then used my Chevy Suburban to...

Water in oil in M925A1 - New addition

I'm really hoping something like that happened and that the block is okay. That would be very nice. But what scares me, is because I also was able to pull through the oil drain hole, pieces of liner o-ring.....both orange and black pieces, indicating both top and bottom o-rings as if the...

Water in oil in M925A1 - New addition

Yeah, I am really curious to get that oil pan off and try to see what happened up in there. I can't understand why that would have happened. And yeah, what sucks is I currently have no way at my shop to lift the old engine out, and a new one in even if I did find a replacement engine if I need...

Water in oil in M925A1 - New addition

Well..........Found the source of my water in the oil:-) Went up to where the truck sits today to change the oil, and see if I could make the thing road worthy enough to drive it home. When I took the oil drain plug out, I found only the normal tiny bit of metal substance stuck to it like you...

Water in oil in M925A1 - New addition

Yes it does freeze where the truck is parked. Not a whole lot, since it is close to sea level in Washington state, but it does freeze. However, the coolant has sufficient anti freeze in it that freezing shouldn't have been a problem. The reason I suspect the oil cooler, is because this truck...

Water in oil in M925A1 - New addition

:jumpin: So I just today finally bought me another M925A1 after a three year hiatus of not owning any military vehicles. I bought a house and property here in northwestern Oregon a year and a half ago, and there was no extra money or time to be messing around with military trucks for a while...

    Adding Iron Planet Section

I'm glad I happened to find this thread. ha ha I kept searching GL for trucks since I've been wanting to buy another one lately, and have been quite disturbed that they seemed to be non existent on GL. I just happened to see this thread, and opened it up, and was quite happy to find IronPlanet!

    Newbie GL question about firearms

Yeah this is also a hard one for me. I go NO WHERE without mine, and when I went to retrieve my M925A1 from Barstow, that is about a 16 hour round trip for me. There was no way I was going to leave my gun at home for that entire trip. But then you are faced with, "Well then where can I leave...

Yes, THAT would be freaking awesome! They are awesome looking trucks! I've been wanting one for quite some time now! So happy to see them finally being sold!!! I've been trying to move out of California for a while now anyway, but now it will be especially necessary for me to since the M1070s...

    Driving a deuce though California

They actually told you you did not have to have a commercial license or stop at scales if it was unloaded??? That is good to know! That kind of surprises me, but I'm glad to hear someone has their head on straight as it would be totally ridiculous to require it on such a vehicle obviously not...

    Driving a deuce though California

Yes, California is an interesting place. In order to drive a commercial vehicle in this state no matter where you are from, you darn well better be properly licensed to drive said vehicle. So a deuce in California technically requires a Class B commercial. It is entirely possible that you...
