I like the way the front hitch is attached. I have thought that would be a useful design for the rear if some one wanted a rear tire carrier. I have thought about using that design for a cargo carrier attachment, except it would be raised so that a trailor could still be pulled.
Can the military batteries be refurbished? Mine do not seem to hold charge over 10amps, and I have de-sulfated them. Do not know much more abou8t batteries.
Pics would be appreciated alot as I am considering the lift myself or bigger tires. I put 33s on with no lift of course. Work pretty good but I like the idea of the Hmmv tires.
Great looking project!! Wish I had bought the trailor at the same time. Make sure your hitch it sufficient to pull trailor. I heard they were pretty weak, and needs a trailor hitch mounted below to frame. Then could use area for license plate. Let me know what you decide to do. Good job...

My M1009 was sluggish, then noticed vacuum regulator on top of engine was taken out of loop for some reason. Reconnected and shifting was greatly improved. I wonder if it was disconnected to improve mpg on base, etc. as it shifted very early to 2nd and 3rd keeping the rpms low. Was not good...
Early shifting
Myy M1009 shifts out of 1st early, hurting acceleration. Will shift a little later if pedal is on floor board, but not much. My vacuum line comes up from engine and goes directly to line back to transmission, bypassing a black modulator on the top right side of engine. What...
What does that Warn #9000 weigh? Is an 18000 lb winch too much? Told it weighs 175#. Have a friend trying to sell that winch. It would need another bumper.etc seems to me and would definately be aftermarket in appearance. I really like the way jmassenga's looks.
I am new to MV brotherhood also. Welcome from South Carolina. Maybe store a pillow and blanket in M1009 for WTSHTF locally!! Just kidding. Most wives will tolerate us if we don't forget to remind them (and ourselves) what they mean to us.
Glad to be on board with you.

My kids suggested the name, saying I rock 99% of time. Don't know about the other 1%!! I did have a Z-28, 4 speed (84) though. And the camaro IS back. Anyway, thanks for info, I want to go to some of these events to see first hand what people have done to CUCVs and to see what else people...
