Licenced my M-819 and trailer today !

s for beig ina Red state, I live 30 miles north of the redest town in the US. Rexburg, ID. We do not have democrats in this area. So when we have an election, everyone is a Republican and it is all over in the primary. Hated to see Larry Craig go down in flames, he did us a lot of good.

Licenced my M-819 and trailer today !

THe air show is on the 14th, give me a week and with any luck I will get a picture with it full of MV's. It is registered as a farm vehicle in Idaho. No miliage fuel tax requirement if under 7500 miles a year and no CDL is required.

Licenced my M-819 and trailer today !

Went down to DMV and licenced my M-819 aircraft recovery wrecker and matching M-270 drop deck trailer. Licenced them for 50,000 lb.s. I pulled onto the local scale and got a light weight - 47,300 lb. Good greif, all I have room for is a M-274 Mule and a beer cooler :lol...

    Rant : Markings on equipment

The last 2 trucks that I purchased out of Barstow were very nice trucks. The paint was still nice, HOWEVER, DRMO or Gov Liq freely took magic markers - ink pens and wrote their information all over the doors. The CARC paint is very pourous and it is next to impossible to get the markings off...

Demil equipment to cities, non-profits ?

I know for sure that armour and big gun remain the property of the US Govt. The 57mm that I restored for the local NG had ATF numbers all over it. Somewhere on a dusty shelf in DC this gun still has the paper work on it. Some guy in this state bragged to me that he goes around approaching...

    Malstrom AFB - Barstow

Yes, to make this correct, I believe that it was the other fellow at Barstow that ended up helping my trucker. One M-813 truck did run and they ended up chaining up the dead truck to the live truck and driving it up on the loading dock onto a lowboy trailer. My gripe, is that it is impossible...

Demil equipment to cities, non-profits ?

Robyn, following up on the other gentlemans question, if you are a city or non-profit museum, ect. Is there a part of Govt Liq that handles that type of request for memorials or equipment for educational purposes ? ? The city south of here aquired a demilled M-60 tank for a town memorial...

    Malstrom AFB - Barstow

Giving credit where credit is due, the crew at Malstrom AFB in Montana was very helpfull, however we did just buy an item that needed to be lifted with a fork lift. Dave at Barstow has to go, if you are selling trucks, there needs to be at least a loading dock that a dead truck could be drug...

Titleing on an older purchase ?

Robyn, I did the titleing on 2 - M-813's that I purchased last fall. In the process I requested a title for a truck that I had purchased 2 years ago, but was denied. They said it was too far back to bother with. I had purchased 2 - M-812's at the time, got the title on one but I forgot...

    Running bias with radials ? ? ?

I am sure this is a bad question, but when I got the M-813's they were equiped with a nice set of 11:00x20 Michelin radials. The front end is out of alignment and ate up the two front tires. If I get the front end alligned, would it hurt to run 2 new NDT 11:00x20's on the front end? ? ...

    Goodyear Tread Pattern

I run 3- 800 series with directional radials. When they come in they were on every which way. Unless there is some reason to run them the correct way for hiway use and getting correct wear, I do not let it bother me for off-road. Tom

WANTED - M816 Snatch Block AKA Tackle Block/Sheave Assembly

    rust remval bath

On small parts, I have built an oversized tumbler. Probably a 30" bed. I built a cylinder out of 4" or 6" PVC pipe with a screw on cap. I collect all the ball bearings, ect that I can find for the tumbling medium. I throw in about a coffee can of low volitile parts washer solution...

Painting with flat enamel paint ? ?

Little Bob, I agree, shooting too dry is always something to watch for. Of course trying to cover that much surface area and all the darn knoocks and crannys make it hard to get every square inch just right. Of course with an enamel you can, towards the end, thin down the paint and throw...

    Idaho to Ohio

Give Harvey Hansen a call out of Malad, ID at 208-339-3276. He hauls all our trucks for us. I bet it would cost an easy $3,000.00 Tom @ Snake River

    Barstow, CA to SE Idaho

BTW - the site manager at Barstow is a lazy SOB, Harvey said that they used to have a large crane that would just lift the dead trucks up onto the semi trailers. Now you have to figure it out yourself. When I got my M-813's, we were lucky that one ran, and he pulled the 2nd truck up on the...
