    Ricks Deuce build

No kidding I can't get my cutting wheel to work that well. What size and thickness are you using for the skin and tubing. About to start building my roof 100% custom and thinking 18ga for skin and 1" square tubing for structure.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Ok that's it, I need to make friends with Kyle at Black Rock Fab. You keep getting all this cool metal work from them. Today I did a little bit of body work on the crew cab and clarified my issue with the rear axle shafts. I wish I could have done more but I need metal and I work Mon-Fri, their...

Push Button Head Light Switch...... Dash Lights All The Time!

It's the same switch we find in most of the MRAPs. I have never heard of them starting on fire and we used those trucks everyday and had hundreds in our unit. Could be a bad batch is out there on the cheap. I would tear into this one and not leave it as is, especially if guys are saying they can...

    Lock outs, locking themselves problem.

Ok problem solved, no welding or modifications needed. Pulled one cap and pushed the shafts all the way to one side. Even tapped on it with a hammer for good measure. Then took some crude measurements. Can't find my proper tool but a metal rod makes a crude measuring stick. Compared the depths...

    Lock outs, locking themselves problem.

Well today is a beautiful day and the wife might give me some time to tear into the axle and do some measuring. I don't have the original axle shafts but I suppose I could swap it out with the m36 that has stock axles. I have attached a "classified" pictures from early in the build to see what...

Another M35A2 Tractor Conversion With A Major LDT-465-1C mods

I too would like to hear how advancing the timing caused the injectors and lines to burst. Could you specify which problems came with which adjustments. I remember you saying you also increased the pop off pressure which from what I read retards the fuel timing. Maybe that is what blew the lines...

    Lock outs, locking themselves problem.

GRAMMAR! My old arch nemesis, we meet again. Yes, I do still have the grizzly lockers front and rear. I have not taken the truck off-road yet because it is still mid build and I just had the new driveshaft made. I can say on the road the truck handles fine and I don't notice any issues with the...

    Lock outs, locking themselves problem.

I'm going to pull one cap. Push the shaft all the way over and measure how much is still sticking out. The caps don't have teeth all the way to the end. So if it proves to not stick out far enough. Ill screw and tack a bolt on the end of each, at the cap ends. That way if the bolt snaps or falls...

Bobbed deuce or 5 ton for light to moderate crawling, mudding, and general wheeling

When making your decision don't forget to add up all the upgrades you plan down the road. Your smart thinking M35a3 for a better engine to turn larger tires and power steering. I more then doubled the cost of my deuce with 2 lockers $2,000 (shop installed), two axles lockouts $1070+$450 for rear...

    Lock outs, locking themselves problem.

That's a good idea. I have to flip the hubs still so when I do that Ill pull them out and weld a bolt in. It already has thread for a bolt to be screwed in, I assume from manufacturing. Ill find one that fits then weld it in place for good measure. Anyone object to this idea?

    Lock outs, locking themselves problem.

Ill see how it works over the next couple of weeks. You are correct the shafts can push all the way through the diff, there is nothing separating them. When I talked to the manufactures tech he felt that they should have enough teeth to still work even with the extra play. From what I can tell...

    Lock outs, locking themselves problem.

Important update: I have sense bobbed the truck and when I removed the rear lockouts I found some disturbing stuff. Apparently the shafts had worked their way over to the passenger not allowing it to unlock and coming off the teeth of the driver side. Not before the tips could be ground off the...

Pulling tractor with a deuce engine

Awww, yep I'm an idiot. I was wanting the 2-155 and clicked on 2-150 instead. Well forget what I say, instead make sure you select the correct one. BTW if you want to know a 2-150 Injector it's about half the radius of the Hercules injector. I ordered it for $45, didn't show up for two month. So...

Pulling tractor with a deuce engine

Be careful when purchasing these parts. I would even say call before you order and check on the size of the bolt. I purchased an injector for an Oliver 2150 Hercules and it does not look anything like the stock ones.

    Pics of Hood Locks?

I agree with others that you don't want to go through to much trouble to try and stop people from stealing the truck. For one the average guy can't figure out how to start these trucks without reading. All my labels are gone and a shop spent an hour trying to figure it out before they called me...

Another M35A2 Tractor Conversion With A Major LDT-465-1C mods

If one had injectors and fuel lines custom made what would the next issue you could see. My awesome sloped driveway and small garage takes the engine swap out of the equation. I know it would be easier and cheaper but....have to find a new house first.

    Full air ride crew cab

You think you could do a kit. Even if it comes in for a few grand I could see these things selling like hot cakes. PSSSSSt I want one for my crew cab

    cummins 6.7 ?

Honestly your best resource if your stuck on doing a cummins conversion especially the 6.7 is to look on ford forums for Fummins builds. All the emission and hold backs on that engine can be bypassed but its going to cost programming and parts. Also Im not seeing the possibility of keeping the...
