Crank Position sensor / Oil pump drive sensor...can they be converted to a DC digital

So I am working to finalize the EZ TCU installation and hit a bump in the road. The TCU requires a digital DC signal...the type produced by a 3 wire hall effect crank position sensor. As far as I can tell, our 6.5L GEP motors have both a crank position sensor and an oil pump driven sensor but...

    Guidance on replacing Differential Yokes

Going to respond to my own post here for archival purposes...in case anyone else encounters this issue while doing a 4l80E conversion. The process of swapping the yokes was actually a total breeze. Essentially, you count the exposed threads (the old yoke and new yoke are the exact same...

    Guidance on replacing Differential Yokes

Hi Guys - I am working on installing the powerpack in my 998 and an needing to swap out the Yokes on the differentials. I read through the TM's but it does not seem to apply if you are moving from one yoke type to another as I am doing with the conversion from a 3L80 to 4L80E and NP242...

Please help me identify this wire

I think I might have finally found it. Based on the below, I think it is "K" and attaches to the Bus Bar.

Please help me identify this wire

That is what I am thinking as well but I really want to be certain. Hopefully someone knows the cable number so I can verify.

Please help me identify this wire

Oops..just saw that the arrow is pointed at two wires. The one I meant to point to is the larger wire (not the glow plug branch). The larger wire is a single wire, about 8 gauge. This is the 6.5L harness and I dont *think* it goes to the starter because according to the TM, I have accounted...

Please help me identify this wire

Thanks guys. Do you happen to know the cable number? Trying to determine if it is power or ground.

Please help me identify this wire

Hi Guys - Working to make the last few electrical connections on my 6.5L GEP installation. I have one wire which was cut during the engine harvest and does not have a marker to identify the wire number. Can someone please help me identify it and where it terminates? It looks to be about 8...

What the heck is this thing on my 6.5 GEP Engine?

So I dug through the tech manuals and cant find any mention of this electrical component. It wasnt present on my 6.2L so hoping someone may know what the function of this thing is. It came as part of the 6.5L GEP power pack. Says riverside manufacturing but no part number. Maybe some sort of...

6.5L GEP swap.....which hose to connect A2 PS pump to Hydro-boost?

Thanks so much! Couldnt find it on the Kascar site so this is great.

6.5L GEP swap.....which hose to connect A2 PS pump to Hydro-boost?

Looks like I was wrong about the hydro-boost. The A0 and A2 appear to be the same and a fitting is in fact required to adapt the hose. The TM shows a PN (01-493-4056)...just need to track it down now.

6.5L GEP swap.....which hose to connect A2 PS pump to Hydro-boost?

OK...making great progress on the swap from a 6.2L 3 spd to a 6.5L 4l80E. The new power pack is in and now the hard work of making all the required connections begins. I need to reconnect the high pressure line from the A2 style power steering pump (reservoir on top of engine) to the old...

Please help me identify the function of this rusty component on a GEP 6.5L Engine

ahhh...makes total sense now....hence the rust. Thanks so much guys!

Please help me identify the function of this rusty component on a GEP 6.5L Engine

Yes, I should have been more clear. I am trying to figure out what the rusty stubbed end pipe above the oil filter and the oil cooler line is in this photo. All 6.5 GEP's have this same port but I have no idea what it is for?

Please help me identify the function of this rusty component on a GEP 6.5L Engine

Can someone please help educate me on what the function of this pipe is?? The pipe is located top right above the oil filter. Thanks!

Engine wear above 55 mph (3000+ rpm)

I can tell you from personal experience that prolonged driving at 55 mph can be catastrophic. My 6.2L / 3L80 snapped a rod after one year of trips at 55 mph. This is by no means scientific but that engine is screaming at 55. The good news is...its a great excuse to upgrade to a 6.5L/4L80. :)

Pulling Engine and Transmission - How to disconnect the hard plastic driveline hoses?

Thanks alot for the guidance. I think that I will replace all of the line since i have the drive-line out. It looks like standard air brake hard nylon tubing??

Pulling Engine and Transmission - How to disconnect the hard plastic driveline hoses?

Hey guys - Getting very close to being able to pull my trashed 6.2L / 3L80 and replace with the 6.5L Optimizer and 4L80. Everything came out very smoothly and I am down to only the hard plastic lines that plumb into the air cleaner element and drive-line. What is the best way to disconnect...
