    Speed Test - M998 Non-Turbo 6.2L only

Hello, I was wondering if folks can do me a favor. I'd like to know if my M998 is performing poorly. With your unmodified (intake, exhaust, cam, block, non turbo), can you time how long it takes on a flat road to get up to 30 MPH in a 6.2 normally aspirated M998? (Floored). Can you do the...

    Slave Cable Solar Panel?

Definitely wired directly to the batteries me thinks. That frees up the nato. I'm using very light wire from my panel to the charge controller. Not all that many amps....

    Slave Cable Solar Panel?

Find a 24-volt solar charge controller on the Brazilian jungle website and you're set. The Green ones on Amazon are about $25 - 35. I bought one for my garden to power my hydroponic water pumps and garden shed lights. Works fine. Docs say it supports 24. Worst case is it blows your solar charge...

    Tight Turn Steering Stutter

I am truly embarrassed. It was an RTFM - H Lock. Geesh.

    Tight Turn Steering Stutter

Ok, I adjusted my wheel stops as per my recent post. On tighter turns in the parking lot, I am getting some front end shake or the feeling like the wheels are not in sync. Happens at all speeds (relatively speaking) Other information: 1. No leaks. 2. Straight travel is excellent. 3. Steering...

    Wheel Travel - Steering Challenge

I got impatient and did what the TM recommended. My wheel stops were set to around 20 degrees instead of between 32 and 34 degrees. Wow.

    Wheel Travel - Steering Challenge

Holy Schnozzles! Didn't see this! Thank you! After reading the TM, I'm thinking my M998 is opened too much and the M1038 is about right! Love how they tell operators to draw chalk lines. Wondering if this is in a field kit somewhere! LOL Looks like I know what I am doing this weekend!

    Wheel Travel - Steering Challenge

I did a physical inspection and didn't see an adjustment. I didn't see anything in the TM about any stop adjustment. I have this sinking feeling that the Delco steering box is out of spec and it just "fit". I have a donor. I may switch it out after doing a pressure test on the steering gear box.

    Wheel Travel - Steering Challenge

Hello, it has been a while for me - primarily since everything is running! Anyway, I have a 89 M998 and a 89 M1038. I have completed most of what I need to sell the M1038. Besides not knowing a price to sell it for (forbidden here), I have another challenge: The steering radius is...

Looks like it is sticking its tongue out at you.

    Starting to look at Radios

I've read quite a few posts and am still confused on what to get. Here is my use case: Disaster strikes Southern California (we're going to be first, right?). F150 to HMMWV: I want to be able to radio my wife in her car (50 miles away possibly) from my HMMWV or vice versa - she's in the HMMWV...

LEO/FD HMMWV Check List & Part Numbers

Can we roll these up into the top document? Can the top document state last updated? (I do this at work as well.)

    Patracy's M1038

I have done two things: dabbed holes with a little silicon sealant and used a plastic washer so the face doesn't contact the nut. Seems to do the trick even with Zinc-plated bolts. For sound deadening, I used stall mats. I'm amazed at how much the noise level went down. I used elevator bolts to...

    Tire Age in Hmmwvs

Thank you all for chiming in. I live near San Diego. Dry checking due to UV is the problem here. I have replaced two with relatively good M/Ts but the ride stinks now. I am inclined to go Super Swamper Radials. I don't want to change the original look but another grand for original M/Ts that...

    Tire Age in Hmmwvs

I can't get it out of my head that ten year old tires are simply unsafe. I have four. What are your thoughts? Most folks are willing to run older tires and simply change them out when they blow. Given that Hmmwvs are not great at speed, I'm not likely to risk it if I can afford to have newer...

    Heavy Duty Receiver Hitch Measurements?

There are quite a few out there. I made my own, welding a HF under bumper receiver to the bottom of my pintle. I'm assuming the lack of response means that most folks hope for somewhere in a range and call it good.

    HMMWV injector pump bad or??

Neighbor had the same problem. Immersed the entire thing in a sonic jewelry cleaner with carb cleaner and reinstalled....something had mutzed it up. I swear by these little cleaners now....

    Humvee

@Coonhunter. For the love of all things good in this world, how about changing the title to something other than HMMWV that is in the HMMWV forum. Say what's wrong or just say @CoonHunter's Having Problems with his H-DOG. /jws

    Civilian CV boot part number

I'd love to see a video of someone actually replacing the boot. Does the above work? Doesn't it rip the smallest portion? I don't have the tools I guess. I cut the boot off of one I replaced and I'll be darned if I could figure out how to replace it. I've seen so many comments about replacing...
