Fusible link from Alternator and Charging Issues

You may be right sir, it is dark and rainy here, but a quick test found that with headlights on, the voltage at the batteries was 12...11.9 I will check again in the morning to verify. Both batteries are not very old, just a year. If just one cell is bad would that bring the whole system done?

Fusible link from Alternator and Charging Issues

Yes, but that is normal. The sense wire is the brown correct? And a reminder, this is a 12 volt conversion vehicle. Runs and sounds good, Rosscommon followed and double checked. aua

Fusible link from Alternator and Charging Issues

Will do, I read one of your earlier threads about the Rosscommon conversion not charging. More info - All new bulbs and cleaned instrument cluster. Dielectric grease, shiny brass on the connections. A 194 bulb is on Gen 2. It lights up with a turn of the key, WAIT light on, then off, she...

Fusible link from Alternator and Charging Issues

Ok, I'll be to the point. Like many here, I put a lot of time and research into this obsession. Just when you think it is all ready... I am only getting 12.4 volts at the batteries while engine running. Removed and had the Alternator tested (lifetime warranty from OReilly). Watched the...

Body (Cap) Side Window Rubber Seal - M1009

For MT4222 The bill for install, with my seal from LMC, was 190. Took two of their techs 3 hours to put it in. I had to go to their shop, the mobile guy wasnt experienced enough!

Body (Cap) Side Window Rubber Seal - M1009

I've replaced all the rubber except for the side windows (on the top). I had Safelite do the windshield - new glass with an LMC seal kit. Everything else I did as a newby... we just cleared 7 days or more of fall rains... no leaks yet!!! The vent windows were the absolute worst, i failed...

    Mounting Accessory Plate

I had to cut a few inches otf the end of the trim. Then the accessory plate mount sort of sqeezes through the existing hole in the dash pad where a vent would be if a civi vehicle. There are 4 hex head screws, 1/4 or 7/16 I think, that hold the plate to the the metal frame under the dash pad...

    rear window crank

Good advise above. I too have had to entirely rebuild the tailgate window set up. New rubber all around...the original literally fell apart in my hands. That all went in pretty well with plenty of nice new scratches on the paint as I was installingaua The regulator has been replaced with a...

    1984 m1009 CUCV rebuild

and more... I sprayed the entire interior with Dupli Color's paintable undercoating/bedliner. Great stuff. Also used as a 6 to 8 inch rock chip layer along bottom edge of body all around. More pics on that later. Wheels and other removable metal trim was powder coated Oil Rubbed Bronze. I...

    1984 m1009 CUCV rebuild

Right at one year ago, I jumped in on a project vehicle and thought I'd share how things have been going. The '09, a CL find, was pretty rough and smoked most of the 300 miles from pickup to new home. New batteries, new Injection Pump and some wiring work and it was driveable. The body was...

    Removing M1009 Windshield???

Oh, the removable top bolts...I broke off two of those. Frustrating. Once drilled out and the threads cleaned I used some nice shiny new ones from a junkyard with some anti-seize. We have great summer weather around here, so top will likely be off every summer. I bet those bolts hadnt been...

    Removing M1009 Windshield???

I feel your pain sir. My 84 m1009 had a horrible spot of rust behind the windshield gasket. Seemed that troops using the roof for a park bench created a few creases on the brow near the top of the windshield. That said, when I went to strip down the vehicle, the windshield did come right out...

    Heavy Duty Headlight wiring harness

Thanks for the replies! Seems like good insurance policy would be to have a spare headlight switch in the toolbox! Shame that these parts are made elsewhere...ugh I have been thinking the same thing...making one myself! So, a quick google search and this is what turned up: Headlight Loom...

    Heavy Duty Headlight wiring harness

For once this is not yet a problem but just a question to avoid a possible problem. I searched the CUCV forums for "heavy duty headlight wiring" in a variety of combinations and didn't see anything that addresses this. I have upgraded my headlights to the fancy ones in the LMC catalog. They...
