    Try using a light bulb with leads and male 1/4" spade lugs to temporarily replace your fuse while troubleshooting. It will save a lot of aggravation.

    This sounds like you got a 24 volt starter for a gas engine. The starter and flywheel for the 350 cubic inch chevrolet engine will bolt up to the 6.2 diesel. It will even start and run, although it would be horribly out of balance.
