Goldwing: Does your setup filter the oil going in or out? How does it work? I like the theory of the setup, but I am kind of lost as to how it would operate.
Not what I was expecting to hear, but this is the kind of information that I wanted. I thought the turbo would be too much, not that it would be too small.
I would like to make a filter setup more like what you have. I need something that is horizontal instead of vertical like mine. If I set my filter setup on top of a 55 gallon drum, it's about 6' tall total.
I had thought about just selling the turbo, but it only goes for about $250 or so. The Deuce turbo costs about $300-$400. Right off the bat, I'm behind at least $50. The truck is a non-turbo right now (hence the LD-465) so I don't have any of the parts to start with.
I hadn't thought about an...
I'm only considering it because I need a new exhaust, the turbo is free and the fabrication will only cost parts. I won't have much in the setup as far as cash is concerned. I already have a boost gauge from a past project and want to get a pyrometer anyway.
My only concern, that you talked...
I couldn't find any thread that had talked about this, except for the turbo kit threads. I didn't find any real answers there or I read over the information and missed it.
My buddy has a good HX35 he's giving me for free. I can make the turbo physically fit the truck no problem. Is it going...
I've only had the NDT's and I got stuck on wet grass. I was trying to go up about a 10% grade in a field with long grass that the dew was still on. I had about a ton or two of dirt in the bed and had to put it in 6x6 because the rears were spinning.
The only question I have is...
If you had to do it again, would you:
1) Buy already re-centered HEMTT wheels.
2) Buy HEMTT wheels, the plates and modify them yourself.
3) Do your modifications over again?
I paid the same in KY for historic plates, it was right around $150. After 3 years of owning my truck, mine is officially legal and licensed now as well. I had to file an affidavit of ownership because the truck had never been licensed before and I had owned the truck for years with a clean title.
This is what I agree with along with what Mad Scientist said earlier. Especially right now, these trucks have little to no resale. Paint it whatever you want to, as long as it's a satin/flat color. Gloss anything would not look very well at all.
I think that is a two fold problem. Even if the transmission gears were there, it seems like most trucks wouldn't have the power to push a brick that large through the air that quickly. Then you have to solve the problem of a lack of power.
