M1078 camper in the Glamis dunes Thanksgiving 2016

I was curious if you don't mind sharing the method you used to secure it to the truck. I'm on the fence on wether to build one or just get a 1079 and mod the van. I mounted the box just as the original bed was mounted to the truck. 8 bolts down each side. There are many debates on "How to...

Thanks for the compliment. I think the first time people ride in these trucks they feel they are tall and top heavy. When people come visit me to see my build they always use the grab bars. but after a few miles they start getting used to how they ride and lean around fast corners. I don't even...

Just picked up my M1078 so I am starting on this new adventure

"On a side note does anybody know what this wire that is coming into the cab on the passenger side. I have no idea. I added a picture of it and a new one with my cab raised." As fro the wire on the passenger side. It could either be an radio wire or the amber strobe light wire. I had the...

12 Foot 2 Inches to the top of the Roof AC. However, the Flag that I have to have on the truck in the dunes is at 17 foot. "that way people can see me" HAHAHAHA silly flag rules. (California, its not all that special. Don't move here.)

Hey everyone. I'm back from the flu and Christmas travels. I have no problem answering questions that people have. It is however easier for me to text or talk over the phone as I am not always near a computer with connectivity. Its better to text me first and let me know if your calling me. As I...

    Cab mount bushings

Finally able to get back and post the pic of the bushing with the part number on it. This bushing is a blank bushing with only a hole in it that fits our sway bars. If you use it you will need to turn it down on its outside to make it fit. Use it if you want to pay 30 bucks for two of them and...

Morning all, Let me start out by stating if you are a purist, you may want to go run and hide in a closet for this. I am not a purist. I am function over form on my truck. Not looking to get $$ taken out of my pocket for a correct NSN part from a few dealers that control the market, when there...

I talked to a company that manufactures FRP. Thay told me that I shouldn't use it in an RV as it will see very different temp ranges as it will expand and contract up to 1/2 inch. They said in a home that stays stable in its temps it is fine. But they said you may deal with buckling walls. There...

Try and find an RV dismantler in your area if possible. I use Stardeck industries in Corona Ca. they are 35,000 sqft of new used and very cheap. pennies on the dollar! I have no affiliation except to buy from them. Reg RV dealers will bankrupt you buying parts.

I built the floor section mounted on the truck and then removed it to finish. Didn't want to buy scaffolding or fall and break a hip at my age! LOL
