As far as I know the only other vehicle that used the same dump bed as the m215 was the REO/Studebaker m59. However the stock cab protector on the m59 is a little shorter in height than the one on the m215 (at least for the two I compared). I'm not sure if an m59 cab protector will work on an...
I picked up a trailer today that I strongly suspect is a USAF trailer for moving either equipment or munitions around a paved area. I'm guessing it originally had an axle in the front like a hay wagon but that was cut off and a regular tongue welded on, probably by a fire department. I'm sure...
G749 is kind of the series of the truck. There are various different trucks in the G749 family that are based on the same design. m211 has dual rear wheels with a wide bed with a flat floor. m135 has single rear wheels in the back with a narrower bed with wheelwells. m215 is the dump truck...
Just bumping this thread to see if anyone else has seen one of these or has an idea of its use in service. It's a 1958 and made by Raytheon. The time period has me thinking it may be related to the Hawk missile (entered service in 1959). The m390 trailer is used with Hawk missiles too.
It...
They're not perfect but they're on the truck at least. There is supposed to be one more brace on the top of each one, I've got to reweld the one I've got then make another for the passenger side.
MarcusOreallyus' post is on the right track but pretty much all reversed from what is on the truck.
The driver's side does not need to be isolated ground as it's the 12v side and powers the front battery.
The passenger NEEDS to be isolated ground, as that is the "24 volt" side, and that one...
Welcome to the site!
It will kind of fit, but not well at all. The frame on a 5 ton is taller than on a deuce so you’ll need to make brackets and extensions. The input on the winch is on the opposite (passenger) side from a deuce. The driveshaft is different, controls are different, PTO is...
Rick was still in business when I saw him a few days ago! The website looks the same to me, you could always call or email him with what you need if the site isn't working for you.
That's an m1028. Same as an m1008 but a little better (limited slip front axle and helper springs in the back).
The truck is a mix of 12v and 24 volt (mostly 12). The truck should have 2 12 volt alternators and the exterior lights are 12 volt (along with almost everything else). The starter...
Started spraying a little bit of paint today. The goal is to get the quarter fenders on the truck in the next couple days. I'm sick of moving those around the barn.
The other day I dug out a 5 ton PTO to sell and it had the aux output for a dump truck installed on it. So I swapped...
Thanks. That's what I figured. Definitely no good for this gun ring.
Yeah I bet it would look real good on your truck!:) The narrower socket threw me off, I read that it's specific to this trolley but not sure if that's true or not. It came with a later .50 cradle which obviously doesn't...
If the lunette hitch rotates without pulling it forward out of its socket then something is probably wrong. It should be fixed once it's seated in the casting.
Trailer looks good!
I picked up some gun ring parts the other day but it's a pieced together setup. It's the older style ring, m49 I think. I guess it uses a specific cradle that fits the thinner socket on the skate. Anyone know if there is an adapter to make it work with a regular long pintle?
It came with a...
