I bought the A3 about a year ago. The CAT 3116 appealed to me, as well as the air assist steering and the split brake system. However, I want an A2......
I've been kicking around selling the A3 because I also bought a M151 A2 over the winter and I don't have enough time it seems for both. Good...
I am planning on servicing my wheel bearings this summer. I've been reading the TM in regard to this. I'd hate to smoke one of these pricey bearings....ouch! It's a little out of my skill set so I'm seeking some expert oversight from some mechanics nearby :) I don't have any leaks or anything...
Finally got around to getting this fixed. Took the pressure switch out, cleaned it, blew it out with some air, and cleaned the two plugs/connections. Worked like a charm. Now the buzzer and light work. Close quarters in there! Thanks for all the suggestions.
If you look in the TM the normal operating temps are listed. I believe it's between 180-220? Something is not right, whether it be the gauge, thermostat, etc. There is also a controller (for lack of a better term) under the hood that tells the fan clutch when to operate. One of the HMMWV's that...
I wish it was my 998 :) It belongs to the agency I work for. We rescued four of them from the crusher. Only have an occaisional use for them, but they do get some use.
Doghead, that is awesome. I have never seen that before an I have been in LE for 21 years. I am now in the Federal system but I will distribute that to all the guys I know here in Ohio. I appreciate that very much.
It's right in the Ohio Revised Code. 4503.21. No exception for historical plates and they do issue you two plates. I have not been putting mine on and have met a few State Troopers :) They have been nice because I have them with me, plus my proof of insurance. I'm also in law enforcement but...
Unfortunately Ohio does have to display the plates. Thanks, that would be nice if Ohio was that way.
Thinking about the magnetic plate holders that dealers use.
I received my historical plates. Curious as to where others have placed theirs on the M151. Ohio is a two plate State, so I have to mount front and rear plates.
I have been driving my Deuce and 151 without the plates mounted. I just bring them and proof of insurance. Need to get them on the...
Two parts sources I use are Kascar and The Hummer Parts Guy. If you plug those into google, their websites will pop up. Both have been good suppliers.
The tops are easily disassembled. A few guys with basic tools can do it.
That sucks! But in the long run, you will like the 6.5 and you should get a lot more enjoyment out of your HMMWV. Good luck and I hope you get her together before the 4th!
A good clean one, that is uncut with nice paint and no rust issues underneath is worth that if it is legit, and has a title in my opinion. Get underneath and make sure the "crossmembers" on the unibody are not rusted. Also, make sure the motor is stong running, the clutch is good, and that there...
