nope, they are overkill and thats why i like them. With these on there you dont need to worry about clogging a filter while on a road trip, dont need to worry about crap in your fuel, rust, sluge... who knows what. I ran a set on my civvy K5 for about 50k miles and cut them apart. Still had...
i have read the stock filter is a 36 micron nominal rating, and some places call it a 15. Either way i dont like them.
First one is a 10 micron water sep, second is a 2 micron.
i love my 700 and i beat the snot out of it. Yeah its starting to slip now but before i got it the guy pulled a 3 horse trailer and put 280k miles on it before he sold it to me. I am running 33's.
but yeah, your 400 should have lasted till the cows come home, unless you overheated it, thats a...
Lift pump replacement; 43254 ac delco
However i prefer to bypass the mechanical lift pump with an electric pump. Makes priming your system sooooo much easier.
Mr Gasket sells a cheapo 7psi pump for about $30 that is perfect for this application. I have one i have been running on my daily...
Thanks for posting this link. Fantastic help.
Just tested mine, it has been having cold start issues (besides faulty GP's) and i suspected it was loosing prime. Sure enough.
For those of you interested in getting this part it is also sold by John Deere dealers, part # R36535 for about $13.
Portola Valley, Ca
Its a scud launcher. All the ones we used to see were on wheels, this one was on tracks and kinda funky so i took a pic. If you look in the background of 6 you can see it.
No, the angle i had laying around. It is 3/16" angle and if it did not have the L profile to prevent buckling i would have felt the need to use something thicker, maybe 1/4" plate for the joints. Again, this was a quick slap together bar to get the job done and not fail, it is far from...
'Not well' to the first question. Yes to the second.
These feet have the 3/4" hole for the shackle mount and if you have 1" pins (like i suspect)...they aint gonna fit unless you use a 3/4" pin some washers and will have a lot of slop.
A little piece of knowledge for ya, HMMWV's use a 3/4" pin...

http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/45972-tow-bar-designs.html
I have used it to tow 3 trucks a combined 5800 miles in the last month and it works wonderfully.
Total cost if you buy the materials will be about $150 and you need a welder, drill press and angle grinder to pull it off.
1.5" wide and 2" tall
The 3 i have seen are 1" pins. Apparently some out there are 3/4 according to some forums i have read.
No idea, mine is adjustable.
Make it so that the legs will fold open and closed, this will give you a wide variety of options to use the towbar in the future. Just...
the horizontal pins allow for vehicle heigth and angle changes, thats why you need one in the front and back of the tow bar.
Mine are 4' long, at that length my Duramax bumper will contact the tow bar and CUCV bumper at the same time allowing me for max turning angle without being overly long.
If you are looking for a stock fuse block just go to any pick and pull and look for a GM of the same era.
Or if you want to upgrade you can get some really nice (but expensive) ones at race shops like summit.

with only a single pivot on horizontal i dont think its going to fold anywhere. The square portion of the receiver is directly in line with the center line of the two bars so braking or accelerating will not result in up or down twisting. also the tow bar is completely flat so that was a nice...
and here she is wearing the 35's in comparison.
and look! somebody is stuck in a hole!
Actually i was AMAZED how well that truck was doing on stock tires. Maybe it was just the driver but he was going places i thought for sure there is no way he would have made it.
They are really loose and dont like to wear their shoes for long.
oh wait, maybe thats just my trucks.
this is the result of coming down an incline that was a wee bit steep and a wee bit rutted. The tires are 16.5 rims with 35psi in them and i still pulled one off.
Oddly enough, it pulls to...
Sorry for the delay, here is the one i made out of some angle iron, 2" square tube and 1" bolts.
the bolts are expensive so you'll likely want to use something else for pivots. The 1" are way overkill and wasteful, but i had em and didnt want to run all the way to the hardware store. (1.5...
