Yup that was me.
they are the BFG KM2's 35x12.5 on H2 rims. The rears clear no problem, the fronts you need to do a little massaging.
On the back of the front fenders just let a 5lb sledge to the talking, on the front edge you will need to trim about 2" off the lowest corner at a 45* angle and...
I installed a Briggs and Stratton pull rope to my crankshaft.
By the 3rd pull i have no interest to drive anywhere in that temperature so i moved to California. Kind of an expensive fix, but it works like a charm.
Another solution i have used with great success is to get a running vehicle and some home style dryer duct or anything similar and a 6 pack of timing liquid.
with vehicle #1 running you need to route the exhaust under the hood of the cold vehicle. I suggest laying the tube on the ground, point...
Im sure you guys know about this place, but i thought id share a few photos anyways.
It was odd being that close to russian armor again, although they kept theirs in a lot better condition than the stuff i used to see.
I wont bother typing a bunch of commentary, i'll just post some cool...
Just install the bearing nuts but leave them very very loose, like 1/2" from contacting the bearing. Put your caliper back on and go for a spin.
Its a heck of a lot easier than the alternatives and you wont ruin your spindle or threads.
Good luck!
Oh, you made sure you got both nuts and...
Just bolt the tire back on and take a spin around the block. I would suggest putting the caliper back on though.
Dont worry, you'll know when its free.
If that dosent work, find some curbs to hop. But this is only for rare cases.
In either situation a liberal soaking of beer makes the...
I think another fantastic weak link on the 14b axle is the straps that hold the u joint in. You can get a u bolt arrangement for cheap, and they'll hold your join in a lot more securely.
As for beefier u joints: CTM
I run them in all my Dana 60's and they are impressive.
i also wouldnt rule out a 700r4 for normal use. I am happy with the one in my civvy K5 and its got 220k on it and is just needing its first rebuild. And believe me when i say it does not live a sheltered life.
On the other hand a 4l80e is a more stout unit, but you need the controller and i...
uh, i dont see how the rear end ratio has anything to do with transmissions humming at a certain vehicle speed.
As for mine, i dont hear anything over the roar of 6.2 liters of raw power.
If you are hearing something, might be a driveshaft issue? Might be loose or a worn joint. Just a...
im down for pismo or hollister.
Never been to pismo but explored a little in hollister.
Or if anyone knows good area in the sierras im down for that too.
I FINALLY got my 1028!!
Picked it up at Ft Lewis yesterday, and thanks to your help the homemade tow bar worked wonderfully.
Tomorrow im going to pick up the 1008 from Barstow.
I hear hollister calling...
Can someone provide some measurements and close up pics of the front shackle mounts on their CUCV?
I need to modify my towbar and want to use the square receivers on the front as an attach point.
Few questions:
What is the OD and length of the pin?
What is the outside height and width of the...
