what General said, i think you are referring to the LBCD, and it sounds like something is not connected correctly from the batteries. You should have 12 and 24 connected thru the manual disconnect, thru the remote disconnect relay then on to the 12 and 24v batt terminals on the LBCD. The...
Yep, have done the same type splice using the splice block wrapped in self-vulcanizing rubber tape(fuses into a single piece of rubber when it comes in contact with itself) and scotchkote. Makes a very durable connection. The gel pocket sealing the connection, protected by the plastic case...
Dirty or failed, what I am getting is 7KHZ differential solenoid PWM signal being fed back thru the speedometer signal lines. These 2 signals share a 4 pin passthru connection on the front of the transfer case. If you were getting something similar, the rogue speed signal input might be great...
Well the control valve pulse width should be inverse of the pressure, the higher the pulse width/duty cycle number, the more the valve is open and the more pressure it vents. so it is good to look at both the duty cycle signal and the pressure. With a low PW/duty cycle number, it was...
here is an alternate theory for you all to crunch on…
I have come across a few people who have had intermittent issues with the transmission throwing speed sensor codes, myself among them when I select mode. What I am theorizing might be happening is that there is a weakness in the pass-thru...
Conditions for Engaging the Fast Idle System
When all of the following conditions are present the idle speed will increase to the selected value and the FAST IDLE lamp will illuminate.
The engine is running
The transmission is in Park (P) or Neutral (N)
Vehicle speed is not detected
The FAST...
There may be some condition not met for it to enable/allow fast idle, like throttle position not low enough, or neutral or some such. Not specifically familiar with the specific requirements for fast idle, but it may be something like this causing your issue…
No, i think that J version is good info to have available. There may be some other differences that we might not know about until we actually try to reference something specific.
Yep, its not listed in the equipment reference lists in either of those documents, but R13 and its P250 connector is shown in the drawings in both those .PDFs on page 20… That is one thing I don’t like about these A1 drawings, the equipment ref doesn’t list the connector locations either like...
Looking over the first part of your new .PDF, Revision J Vehicle S/N18549 & below, the only thing I am seeing is it appears to have kept the A0 charging system, Alt and PPD, no LBCD and no remote or manual disconnects. This agrees with my experience helping a few with early A1 power issues...
Actually the bottom half of the pages in that document you found has the same info as the A1 diagram already posted in the TM section, but the first half appears to contain the diagrams from the earlier version of the A1 truck, that I started referring to as the A0.5. Basically an A0 with a 3126...
Yea that looks like a 290HP cat 3116. now I am a tech guy, been working radio and network comms for 40 years now, but I am an old tech guy, And I love old mechanical diesels. The problem is, is that engine tech has surely moved on and unless you understand how to work on the mechanicals, you...
I don't know that I would try and "pry" a handle assembly off, that would surely damage/distort the door skin which would need to get fixed to replace the handle assembly.
I would probably opt to cut thru it(door handle) with a die grinder or Dremel tool cutoff wheel(staying inside the...
