I had this noise comming out my Mep 002a generator end this last summer and this was what I found.The rear bearing was completely dry. Installed a new bearing and everything is nice and quiet now.

I use our old stove/oven as the wife wanted an updated model. It doesnt get get my genny to full load but around 50-60%. Gets the mep working though.

I dont know if this will work, but take the nuts off on back the control cabnit the hold the frequency transducer on. Sand down around the where the nut was and reinstall. This worked on one of my gennys. Must not have been getting connection. Or maybe it was just a fluke.

I would loosen the inlet line at the injection pump, start the pumps and let run untill no air and all fuel shows. That always worked for me.

Like glcaines said,crack the lines on the front of the pump, if no fuel while cranking the pump it will probably need to be disassembled and cleaned up. Usually the plunger gets stuck in the guide and will have to get a new guide from ambac or other places. You may or may not need a seal kit. I...

Being that the jenny sat a few years, it may just need to run for awhile to free things up. Run some diesel conditioner in the fuel.

Remove the bearing out and take it to either napa or a bearing store. They should be able to put a micrometer on it and match it up or there may be a part # on it they maybe able to cross it.

Ive installed one of these vibrating meters on my mep 002a. Due to the vibrating nature of the 002a, it had erratic readings. It might work better on a mep 003a though.

Unless you very familiar with injection systems, have a well lit and clean envirement. have it rebuilt by a qualified shop or get a new or rebuilt pump

Sometimes the use of an air impact wrench on medium setting on the puller works. I pulled an end bearing on the gen. head this way. Its also a good idea to walk away for awhile if troubles arise.
