Okay guys, here's one more piece to add to the puzzle. The guy who owned this truck before me had converted it to a 12 volt starting system, so i don't know if that changes anything. It's dark here, but i'll go check tomorrow and see if it has one or both alternators still attatched.
Ever heard of the ford SORP-special off road package truck? kind of the same thing as the EMP truck GM makes. It's like a off road ready F-350 too bad it's only availible to the gov and approved businesses.
my wipers don't squirt fluid. I looked under the hood and there is no tank! I guess i'm just gonna install one after i fix my other problems (alternater, and i broke the handle off my rear door)
Thanks for the help,
well, to do this i just hooked it up to the other car's battery, then hooked the cables to the terminals on my front battery. Another note, it didn't start up today again. I'm going to test the alternator soon and I will post what happens to help any others who might end...
Ok, so today I started my truck up for a quick trip to super target. Started fine in the 35 degree weather. But when I tried to start it for the return trip, it wouldn't start. I got a jump and it started right up. The werid thing is that when I got home, I turned it off then tried to start...
would that by any chance be the one that had an entire website (cucv.net i think) dedicated to it's build?
It's a neat truck, would be nice to have the extra row of seating
RE: super-thanks for the help
LMC truck has ones for the civvy models, but that should fit your truck fine. They don't have the original color, however.
There's an m1010 up on ebay right now, seems to be in pretty good condition, and is right by you. I would check it out.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to tell of some pictures of a heavily modified M1010 rock crawler someone is selling on ebay. He put up some pictures of his truck crushing some old cutlass. At least I thought it was pretty neat...
Hey just a quick question,
my rear window crank seizes up every turn, do i just need a new crank, or should i replace the entire tailgate. I know someone who is selling one for $50.
wow, i dont really know why i decided to look at such old posts, but you probably don't need a skid plate under the tranny because it is such strong metal. Also, these trucks weren't made for extreeme off roading, and so they don't have all the stuff you would like to be crawling around on rocks.
RE: Gun Rack for M1009
I would just wait for one to come up on ebay, or maybe find someone selling a cucv for parts or just a cheap junker. At least that way you would be able to sell off some of the other stuff or use it in your truck.
