No Fuel, Weak Spark - Here I Am Again.

Ok, so tonight I installed a new distributor cap, rotor, and re-wired a new line directly from the coil to the ignition switch, as suggested. The distributor is 90% rebuilt. Now, for what I intend to do for the fuel system this weekend before I attempt another start up. 1. Install the...

    M101A1 Markings

Not sure what era you are going for but I can tell you that currently, 3/4 ton trailer markings are placed on the back of the box in a similar manner as vehicle bumpers. I've seen some units put the markings on the front of the trailer, but that's probably a 1SG going over-kill. The code should...

No Fuel, Weak Spark - Here I Am Again.

I got a very nice email from Charles at M-Series Rebuild....I have it wired correctly. He suggested a few wraps of electrical tape to tighten up the ring. Also, the 10 Gau wire I'd used to re-wire from the distributor power socket to the coil creates way too much resistance. Charles suggested...

No Fuel, Weak Spark - Here I Am Again.

Hmmm, I wired off the picture on the M-Series Rebuild page. Positive line (24V) from the ignition switch goes to the positive side of the coil. The positive line from the electronic ignition goes to the same post. Negative line from the electronic ignition goes to the negative post, which...

No Fuel, Weak Spark - Here I Am Again.

I have not visually checked the fuel tank pick-up yet, however I have blown the entire fuel line with about 20psi from my air compressor..... I have about 3 Gal of gas in the tank right now and am able to hear the air blowing into the tank. The shut-off valve below the radiator is on as well...

No Fuel, Weak Spark - Here I Am Again.

......and here I am again seeking advice from the forum  Fuel Pump: First fuel pump, my original pump is dead as a result of modern fuel and drying out for a year (previous owner). I'd read on another forum that some had good luck with the Carter M847 (pic 4), which I got and installed...

    Coil Question

Hi all, had a question about coils. Just changed mine out with a new one from M-series Rebuild (good guys to deal with - got the electronic ignition mod as well). When I Ohm'd the old and new coils here's what I found: New coil: 12.0 +/- 0.2 Ω Old coil: 6.2 +/- 0.1 Ω Is the "old" coil burned...

    Tried to start her today....

....and the winner is.....the ignition switch. Get power into the switch but nothing out of socket "D" where wire 12 goes to the distributor. wired around the bad switch and WALLA current to the distributor. Now I just need to find 4-5 hours of daylight to actually start her. Does anyone have a...

    Tried to start her today....

Ok, took my distributor assembly to an old motor sgt friend who adjusted the points for me. Still do not think I have the source of the problem, and I'm not sold that its the coil (YET). The small connecting wires on the coil are covered and are not grounding out either (saw this has caused...

    Tried to start her today....

Good news: Engine turns over (good starter) and mechanically everything is lined up well. Bad news: No spark. Have two new batteries and all new autolite plugs. Initial trouble shooting is showing that no power is getting to the distributor....power regulator box? Fuse? Last owner blew out...

    MG Mount Question

Hi! I was wondering if someone with a real M24A3 mount could give me one measurement. I am making a "field modified" mount for my truck and need to know the height from the bed floor to the top of the socket that the cradle drops into. I plan on buying a socket piece and building my own mount...

    Barn find....worth anything?

So what would the official designation of the contact truck be? I've seen M37's (soft cab, GI) with contact bodies on them, but this is the first civilian-looking power wagon I've seen a picture of in US military service. Any further info or pics?

    Barn find....worth anything?

Well here's where it most likely came from: M601 I'm wondering if the 984 EN CO one I posted above was a civilian power wagon or M601, thoughts anyone?

    M-37 "Engineer" Re-build Help

Sorry to hear this! One thing that concerned me when test fitting my oil pump was the fact where the hole was drilled for the pin made the distance between the gear and the oil pump body way out of spec according to the rebuild manual. Have you checked how this looked on the civilian oil pump...

    Barn find....worth anything?

Maybe at least one made it into US Service....... So is this picture from the 984th EN CO in Vietnam circa 1969 a Dodge M601 Maintenance truck? Possibly liberated from the ARVN or left by the French? (Picture found online)

    M32 Recovery Vehicle (Sherman Tank)

Hi, came across this thread and wanted to add my 2 cents. I'm in the same profession as you and have about 4 years working on historical armor as a museum volunteer at Ft. Knox (back when the museum there still had its tanks). The good news is you have a good BC who wants to preserve history...

    M-37 "Engineer" Re-build Help

Oldfart, the assembly has roughly 4 months on it, so I am not too worried. I am putting 5 Qts in the pan and 1qt is going to pre-soak the oil filter and fill the housing. Plan on putting some Marvel Oil down the cylinders too. Thought I would post something I got a little creative with, not...

    M-37 "Engineer" Re-build Help

Thanks for the info guys! Did not know about the hole near #6. I am tracking the offset slot on the oil pump and dist. The guy who had it before me actually mounted the drive gear upside down on the oil pump shaft....that was a !@#$@% to get off...and when turned around the tolerance between the...

    como wire

FYI-I'm very certain I inventoried TA-312's in 2008 while on active duty! They're still floating around out there.....I own one that my friend found at a goodwill for $10. A common use currently is to connect joint bases to each other.....little US outpost next to an Iraqi or Afghan Army...

    M-37 "Engineer" Re-build Help

Hi All! Just had a few questions as I am reworking a 1952 M37 W/W. I bought it from a gentleman who rebuilt the engine, but had lost interest once the block was installed. So far, I've rebuilt and installed the manifold, water pump, fuel pump, generator, etc, etc. Yes, I've got a copy of the...
