    HT Dual .50 mount?

Hi All, Ran across this picture of half track at a Canadian military museum. I've never seen this type of gun mount on a track before: Halftrack | Flickr - Photo Sharing! The mount looks like a shipboard mount...they had one years ago at the Kentucky State Military Museum in Frankfort, Ky...

    M37 from GA to KY

Hi folks, Wanted to post this here before I started working with any shipping companies and see if anyone wanted to take this on: Haul an M37 that runs, with brakes from Savannah, GA to Owensboro, KY, about 630 miles. The time frame would be late March or the first half of April, very flexible...

    Tried to start her today....

Check this link for a wiring diagram: g741.org • View topic - dodge m37 ignition switch Also, what I did was run new 14 gau wire directly from the GI switch to the coil....removing the distributor filter...etc...I used the same dorman ignition you've got, just that I spliced it into the center...

    Master Cylinder Rebuild

Well I didn't end up using the valve, although it sounds like it makes things much easier. I looked at mine, covered in rust, looking rather frail, and heard my inner voice say to me "if you try to open this you will **** this up so bad only a weekend and $100 at the Napa will fix it"......and...

    Master Cylinder Rebuild

pwrwagonfire, Is this the valve you're referring to? (see pic) It didn't mention this in the TM I've got on bleeding but that makes sense.... Thanks!

    Patton's Command Van Under Restoration

.....the same man who as a Lt. on the Mexican border in 1916 shot two bandits and tied them to the fenders of his Model T Ford like deer?...... Never....:lol::lol:

    Civilian Plug Wires?

My original set proved to be good. My suggestion would be to email the manufacturer of the wires that are too short and see if they have a part number for the same fittings, only longer. I recall someone in the large M37 picture thread had posted a picture of their M37 with blue civie plug...

    Master Cylinder Rebuild

So, I've replaced the front flex lines (and one small section of steel line fused to the old flex line) and am bleeding the brakes...lots of pumping, bleeding, and constantly topping off the master cylinder later....still soft pedal...I have no bubbles at the bleeders, but small bubbles forming...

    Patton's Command Van Under Restoration

I remember someone telling me that someone who had an early M109 came and took measurements of the furniture in Patton's to make a reproduction....not sure if that ever happened though. Yes, it is a shame that all of the armor has now been shipped off. I used to love getting to crew the...

    Patton's Command Van Under Restoration

This is from a volunteer group I used to work with. (before the army moved me away from Ft. Knox). Figured some of the CCKW fans would want to see this: AFTA - Patton Van Project Page A lot of clues on ETO markings while they are stripping the paint off.

    Civilian Plug Wires?

Well, I finally got the truck started yesterday......and after all the work, she is a strong runner! Here was the issue: When I reset the engine to TDC to install the oil pump and distributor, I used the hole over the #6 cylinder to find TDC (as #6 is up at the same time as #1). Problem is...

    Civilian Plug Wires?

So after trouble shooting fuel, air, and spark since September....I've come to the conclusion that it's either my plug wires or the previous owner who had reassembled my engine block that's causing weak or inconsistent spark. I'd like to do the wires before I tear it all apart. Are there any...

    M-37 Update

Hi! Just wanted to post an update on my 37. I'm awaiting the carb coming back from a full rebuild, so then it'll be time to tackle the engine again. For now, replacing the brake flexible lines, fluid, and bleeding. Two lines were replaced easily, third one resulted in me replacing a section of...

    Bumper numbers

The BG designation is what's throwing you off here, I used to think it was "Bomb Group" as well. Thats the 1960's army bumper code for brigade, today its BDE (although BDE is not usually used on bumpers). I would say that its the 81st Inf Bde, 1-161 Infantry Regiment....circa late 60's / early...

No Fuel, Weak Spark - Here I Am Again.

Just spent half the day tinkering: The civie fuel pump works well! I put the fuel cap in the correct position, primed the fuel line with a hand pump, and it was getting to the carb without issues. The new cap and rotor work well, the plugs I pulled and watched had a crisp blue spark on...

No Fuel, Weak Spark - Here I Am Again.

Pulled the top of my fuel tank last night and someone had already done my work for me. Tank filter had been removed and just the pick-up remained. Inside of the tank didn't look too terrible, gas was clear. About 80-85% was free of rust, some very small particles sitting on the bottom. I don't...
