I was wondering if anyone had removed the runflat inserts from the tires on their M101A3 trailer. Will this increase my mileage when towing the trailer on the highway? Does anyone know the pros and cons if it is possible?
Bob
That makes sense. This was my first GL purchase and I am learning about surplus equipment. I wasn't trying to get around a rule I was looking for information. I appreciate the forum and the information I learned here and woudln't abuse it. This forum helped me make and educated purchase and...
I serarched the classifieds and couldn't find one. I wanted to get an idea of what to ask before I posted to the classifieds. I didn't know you needed 100 posts before posting to the classifieds.
Was this the wrong place to ask? I am looking for information not trying to make a sale.
I wired the lights directly to the trailer and removed the cable completely. My trailer doesn't have a battery. I don't want to cut it up, I want to sell it. I don't know what it is worth and I was asking if anyone on the board knew the going price for a cable like this.
I attached photos to this post.
There is a metal tag at the connector end that has the following numbers: 19207-8722864 MFR 6S406
The rubber is in excellent condition with no cracking or tears. It is still flexible and in excellent condition. The only noticeable flaw is a little abrasion...
I have a inter vehicular connector that came on a M101A3 that I just bought. It is in new condition. I don't need the connector and I want to sell it. Does anyone know what they are worth?
I bought a M101A3 that was listed as condition code F7. It had brand new tires, bearings, drums, brake shoes and the fluid in the master had just been changed. It came complete with side boards, bows and canvas and the front landing leg. The only thing missing was the rear leg which is no big...
I just came home from the DMV. I had a 0850 appointment this morning. I arrived at 0815 for the VIN inspection. The inspector was confused because there were two data plates - one on the frame and one on the box. Fortunately the numbers matched. He filled out the application for title form...
I am looking forward to the pictures. In hindsight I am sorry I didn't take more pictures myself. Thanks for posting yours. It's almost like I took them just a few hours later!
BTW I live in Santa Cruz California and bought this trailer for hauling firewood. I usually wind up cutting wood in the mountains so I will probably find myself backing the trailer uphill often. Plus for $3 I figured it woudl be a good thing to buy now before I found myself in eth woods...
1. If the damper in teh tonuge is bad the brakes wil function erratically. This was my primary motivator because I had a 400+ mile drive home.
2. Backing up with a heavy load.
3. Backing the trailer uphill.
4. Combination of #2 & #3.
I didn't take many pictures but I will post the ones I took later. My trailer is pretty clean and in the same condition as yours. I couldn't find any dates on the data plates but it has been reworked. The auction listed it as a M101A3 but the data plate has it as a M101A2. The bed is 96"...
I went down Tuesday for a 0900 Wednesday pickup. I'll post more when I get time.
BTW..did you see the duece and a half on the other side of the fence by the gate that looks just about new? We were drooling over it.
I picked up a M101A3 that was a A2 rework. It had brand new tires and was...
I am heading down Tuesday and camping in the desert with a friend. We usually take two 5+ day desert trips a year so I am used to that type of thing.
Where is Hesperia are you getting the racks and bows? My trailer had the racks, bows and canvas.
I feel the same about the condition of the...
I won a M101A3 that I am picking up in Barstow next Wednesday. I went to the DMV in Capitola, CA this morning to talk with them about paperwork.
The DMV clerk asked if there was a title and I told him no. Then he asked if I knew the VIN. I told him there is no VIN but the trailer does have a...
Pintle hitches are here: Tractor Supply
You can get a 10 ton hitch and a 7.5" mounting plate for $114.98 + tax.
I for one woudl rather have the lunette. It articulates better off-road, it is an OEM part so it looks and functions properly and I have a setup that will tow other military...
