    highback driver seat install

Good info. Thank you. I've been putting this install off for a while now but now that I dug into it it's not bad at all. The included instructions are terrible though. Makes it seem so much more difficult than it is. My problem right now is that I just wanted to test sliding the seat front...

    highback driver seat install

Ok thanks guys. I think I'm good on the positioning then. I was thinking of just using rivets to secure the plates to the floor instead of all the small bolts. Any reason not to? I figure the original seats are secured that way and less steel to aluminum contact would be good too.

    highback driver seat install

I've followed the instructions included with the kit to install the drivers highback front seat. It uses a reference point of 3.25" from the rear set of old rivet holes from the old base that gets removed. I haven't bolted/drilled anything too permanent in the floor yet though. Has anyone...

    steering wheel puller

Funny, I tried another one from another auto parts store. I was too impatient to wait 9:30pm last night for an amazon order to come. Still didn't fit right but made it work. Bolt broke off in steering wheel. So I hacked away all the plastic on the steering wheel , heated up the hub with a...

    steering wheel puller

Anyone know of a specific steering wheel puller kit that will work with the hmmwv? Just tried the autozone one but bolt spacing is too wide.

Ted, could I bug you to take some reference measurements of the seat plates for proper placement? And also the holes cut out for trans harness and rear ac lines on passenger rear side of truck?

    late style rear seats

Those are late style seats but old style bases. I'm looking for m1151 style. I should have clarified.

    late style rear seats

Has anyone done this install recently? I have the wedges, seat bases, seats. I wasn't sure what plates and hardware I needed to secure them to the truck. In the TM I only saw a couple bolts but I assume it would have similar plates like the drivers front upgraded seat has.

    shims on xdoors

I ended up testing by just putting an extra thick larger washer in to mimic another spacer plate and it closes perfectly now. Guess I'll order some back plates and I'll be fine.

    shims on xdoors

Can you post a pic of your door striker? Would like to see how far it sticks out. My door seals are in great shape. Maybe that makes a difference in how much they compress.

    shims on xdoors

Is it actually closing all the way? Both clicks?

    shims on xdoors

I was wondering if those of you with xdoors could share what shims you have in the doors to make them close properly. Mine have 1/16" shims on exterior side of door hinges (see pic) And an 1/8" shim inside beside door latch plus another backer plate somewhere between 1/16" and 1/8"(see pic)...
