Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

Just giving you a hard time... I do that all the time... it is just that it is such spectacular step forward that I do not want to jinx it... Re the MK48 box, I got mine from BBF... good guys to deal with. (BTW, he still may have more a/c units for a real good price.) I cannot think of doing...

Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

Blessed be those that count their chickens prior to their hatching... and then have chickens to match... but I am personally keeping my fingers crossed!!! I have been so tied up with my "bug out" place in central florida that the a/c in the 925 is not top of the list... we are also having nice...

Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

I agree... if coins are no object... Well if coins were no object, I would not be dealing with a 20+ year old mil surplus truck... and I think those bring A/c from the factory... -:) UOTE=FireFighterHill;1331451]Problem with those is the price. In some cases you will end up paying more for the...

Good Job sir. My best half thought I needed to do a series of honey do's and have not gotten back to the truck... just bought a little 10 acre farm and been knocking down a fireplace and ripping up carpet... got a 30x30 pole barn... just big enough for my fire truck and my 5 ton... as far as...

Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

My a/c bracket will not just bolt in, it is for an A2 type. For an A1, modification and fabrication will more than likely be involved. If someone had a bracket from a "parts" 900 series A1 truck it would be special to borrow, rent it, buy it, (not steal it) , to copy its design. I am sure...

Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

You are right, we just have to plan for it. Any tricks to working under the dash of a 5 ton? I have to balance one foot on the step, the other on the window sill while I worry... I worry I might need a hoist to get pulled out... jeez... that is why soldiers are young and trim...

Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

One of my concerns about the insulation is I would have to be able to remove the cabin filter... looks like 4 screws... and really do not want fumes coming into the cab, there is also "car and truck specific" sound and temp insulation that I am using in my 4 wheeler go fast car project to keep...

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

Wow... this post has made me realize that I have wasted my life on wine, women and song... err... well mostly wine... I wish I had worked harder at fabrication and welding... What a project! Cannot wait for the next update. Keep up the good work... You make me feel like the guys that "build"...

OK... I admit it... that first step in the M925A1 is a Bit%$ .. what have others done

BTW, I like the steps maccus is showing better than the ones I have. (but mine are already paid for, installed and scratched up... so they stay) but being fair, the ones maccus shows, with the belting, is going to be a lot more flexible than mine (made out of 1 1/4 inch steel cable) and will...

Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

Guys, I cannot stress enough how that MK48 battery box kicks butt... even if you do not mount batteries in it. It fits perfectly in the space on top of the tool box behind the passenger side of the M925. All I had to do is remove the Jerry can mount and the bracket with 2 fabric straps that...

Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

Got a picture of what that looks like (not the birds... the cab and the engine compartment without the heater...) BTW, I just thought of fiberglass as an alternate fabrication material... basically cutting up the box to fit and using the fiberglass as an interconnector of parts.
