Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

BTW, I have not run my M925 any real amount of time to know... how hot does it get inside the engine compartment? If we choose to place the evap/heater in the engine compartment the heat may impact the cooling capacity.

Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

I spent the weekend (and a good part of Prez day) installing the remote battery box and the 3 steps (2 cab one retractable-bed) All went great and spent some time studying the evaporator install... I made the following observations... 1. Even with the batteries out, the evaporator will not fit...

ok rear step is in The rear retractable is in... works just fine on the M925A1. Rear x-over frame member rubs on the step when retracted, but I can live with that. May put a piece of rubber mat or tire tube stuck to the frame to help, but not now. here are the pics...

clutch lock operation diagram When air valve is actuated by 24V coming from compressor clutch... it bypasses and feeds air to the clutch if ac is on

The guy believes so, have to wait until the guy calls me back, supposedly traveling. It would be nice though.

Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

I spoke with someone a few minutes ago that said another SS member had mounted the ac evap unit under the dash (with some small mod to the box of the evap unit) waiting to hear from him for details-supposedly kept the batteries in the cab!

Did a bit more thinking (scary)... why couldn't I just install a relay getting power off the compressor clutch power that would in turn activate the valve for the fan clutch. If I was concerned about backfeeding for any reason, I could isolate it using a diode.

Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

spectacular. I can just use a 24V air solenoid valve to switch the fan on whenever the ac is on. I did not know the fan was air actuated. Thanks gotta ove SS .

I do not think it is an option, you need airflow to get ac to work or you will overpressure your system. (that is why ac shops have these big fans blowing into the radiator when they are testing the system for an extended amount of time) I know that until my truck is at about 150 or so, I don't...

That should work real well. Good quality hoses can put up with several years of flexing without issue. Just make sure that all of the stress is absorbed by the hose or the tie downs, not the connectors. Looks like it will be awesome. One thing I noticed in my M925 is that the fan barely...

Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

Good idea, but also keep in mind that in a perfect world in real dusty enviroments (like my work 20-a mulch yard) you need to get between the condenser and the radiator and in some cases, between the condenser, hydraulic oil cooler and the radiator. We try to mount the radiators on hinges so we...

So I am guessing... the round hole is the incoming "recycled air" the rectangular port is the output cooled (or heated air). Is there an input for "outside air or makeup air"? I don't see (in the pics) another air passageway.
