Nope, I have the standard power cable that runs from the battery to the mount but want to use the MX-7777 between the battery and mount, different cable.
I was having overheating problems, and put a new thermostat in, after trying everything else it ended up being the thermostat. The new one I bought was packaged wrong, it opened at a higher temp than advertised. I had even pulled it and tested it but I didn't have a thermometer so I saw it...
JWBRONCO
Thanks for the info, I found the AC power cord and the radio works fine. Now I just need to find the tray to mount it in my 1009 and am looking for a batt box so I can pull out the radio and use it out of the vehicle.
That looks like a civilian aviation headset to me, all the military ones I have flown with are the single prong. I just got a radio that came with an adapter to plug the single prong head sets into that works with the vic-1 the adapter is stamped "THE MAGNAVOX CO TEST ADAPTER MX-9530/ARC...
No luck with the actual TMs but did find some info, got it up and running. Looks like I need a VRC-83 mount to install it in my M1009, anyone have one they want to sell or know where I can get one?
For now just want to see if it works, is it 24v? I was going to put it in my M1009, the power cord that came with it has a set of aligator clips on it, didn't want to go hooking it up to anything with out knowing what the power source should be.
Well, looks like it was the thermostat. I got a new one in today and the truck runs at around 185. I tested the old t-stat and it opens but didn't have a thermometer to see what temp it opens at.
The M2 is the gun normally mounted on the deuce but have you looked at what one costs recently? not just the cost of the gun but feeding it. I can still shoot my 1919 for around .55 a round, the M2 is 7 times that. Even at .55 that works out to $275 a min.
I kept looking at the one on BMG parts web page but just couldn't see paying that. Keep an eye out on here and watch e-bay, Austin Webber on there has them every once in a while. And of course shipping was not cheap
I took the thermostat out and that seems to have been the problem. I ran it for 30min at 2000 rpm and it got up to 190. Still above normal operating range but up until now it was getting up to 220 in about 10 min.
What do you guys think? When I bought it and drove it out from New Orleans...
I took the coolant filter out of the loop just to make sure it wasn't the cause. I am still waiting on the thermometer I ordered, I am going to work on it in the morning and will report back with what I find.
