    Ill wait for the thermometer and then check back with you guys. I pulled the thermostat and double checked it was in correctly before I ordered the water pump, I may just take it out, cold isn't an issue in south texas.

    No steam from the cap, I have been pulling over and shutting down when it gets to around 220. Ill start looking for a thermometer. thanks for the suggestions.

    It is a new radiator, the pump was a takeoff. The first time it overheated, it really overheated, I was leaking fluid/steam. everywhere, everytime since I have based it on the gauge going up above 200.

    I installed a keyed battery disconnect switch, cut a hole in the battery box and mounted it so I can insert the key and connect the battery with out having to open anything up.

    That is what mine was doing, it would run fine for about 30min and then would quit shifting, if you let it cool down it would run fine again for a while until it heated back up. It was worn clutches as described above.
