    Howdy from Tennessee

I think you mean Hohenwald. I know because I was raised in that nowhere town. There was very little when I grew up there in the 70's and even less now.

    Howdy from Tennessee

Welcome. Your wife doesn't know that there is no cure for green metal disease.

    Let the Bobbing begin

If I were to do a large quantity of small parts, I think I would make an electrolytic rust remover. Tech Tips -- Electrolytic Rust Removal You can connect as many parts as will fit in your tub together with a wire and clean them all at once.

    M1008 saves the day

Girls like to drive big trucks (even big girls). My 9 year old daughter smiles like a Cheshire cat when I put the truck in low range 1st gear and let it creep along while she steers it around the back lot without daddy even in the truck.

    Biggest tires on a m35a2??

When he used the term "single it out" I didn't read all your post. Sorry  I think that 49" tires would rub the frame on the front when you turn and you may have clearance problems on back, too. I know from personal experience that you can use 395 (46") tires on a stock rim with no...

glow plug in 3 cylnder Detroit Diesel

Because of the current that glow plugs draw, I would go with a pushbutton connected to a heavy duty relay such as one from an old Ford starter circuit. You should be able to get one for $15 or so at any auto parts store. Wire from battery to one large relay terminal and then wire from the...

    Biggest tires on a m35a2??

Since the rear axles are 48" apart, it would be REALLY difficult (read that "impossible") to put 49" tires on it without major spring and suspension mods.

Gonna get a Deuce... but which one!

I have an A2 with Air-o-Matic power assist steering and a heater. I have considered the A3 but expensive to repair Cat engine (even though it should need to be repaired often) and the lack of multifuel capability and the expense of the A3 put me off. If you go GL and wait for one near you, you...

    bobbed m35A2 dual tanks

If you keep one tank for starting, you will have to switch tanks and run for 10 minutes or so on the diesel tank to clear the lines and filters. If you have problems getting it started on the mixture, just keep a can of ether and give it a shot before cranking.

Hit large hidden rock - suspect damage to torque bar

After destroying one car when an idiot pulled out in front of me and I ran off the road to avoid them (of course they drove off), I have vowed to never allow them to get by with it again and I will clip them and wreck their vehicle, too, rather than have my insurance go up because of an a$$hole.

Need an adapter to go from my camper trailer to my M1008

I would just splice into the wires for the military plug and add a pigtail. Or you could see if you can find a plug for an M101 with a pigtail and put a 7 pin receptacle on the end.

    Help sourcing a HEMTT cab

I can't figure out why you have to demil the HEMMT cabs. Heck, it's just a truck cab! It's not like it is a matter of national security.

9 Year Old Batteries and Some Problems

Your issue is probably poor connections. I would start by removing every ground lug and power terminal in the charging circuit and cleaning them thoroughly. If the batteries are still good, why replace them? If they are getting weak, just replace about half the acid with a solution of Epsom...

    Let the Bobbing begin

A big high-torque gas engine is a good choice. But any big GM would work equally well. I would guess that finding a running example is getting harder every day since they haven't been made in nearly 40 years.

Help Stuck!! Trying to help came back to bite me!

The biggest problem I see is that the axles are below the level of the ground and basically acting as an anchor. Solution is as above, get the axles above the ground level and the tires resting on something solid and you can back out of the place you are in.

Here is a trick to extend the life of an old battery.

The think about EDTA is I think that it removes the lead sulfate, not just the sulphate. And where do you easily and safely dispose of lead sulphate?

Here is a trick to extend the life of an old battery.

If the battery has discharged, there won't be any waste acid as the sulfuric acid converts to water and lead sulphate as it discharges and back into lead and sulfuric acid when it charges. But around Tennessee it isn't hard with all the limestone I just pour it in the driveway and the limestone...

Here is a trick to extend the life of an old battery.

Like many of you, I have bought MVs from GL and GSA with weak or dead batteries. For a battery that won't take a charge at all, there is little you can do. But if the battery is weak and just won't hold a deep charge, there is a little trick you can try. Go to any grocery store or drug store...
