FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Yeah, I don't think it will separate back to clear oil if it is water emulsified in the oil. What I was thinking is that if it was air as FLU Farm said, I would expect it would. Even that might not happen, but I think it would be more likely.

Thanks the crackle test looks like a good way to figure out if it is water or not, and it makes sense now that I think about it.

That is exactly my fear. It is a milky white. I will take a picture tomorrow, but it looks similar to what FLU farm posted. I have pulled the rod on the dipper cylinder. and I am replacing the seals right now. I suppose that since it has been sitting for a while if I warm up the tank somehow...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

That looks similar to what I have, maybe it is just air. It has gotten down to -10, but it was looking white like that before it got that cold. I noticed that it was white like that after the firs winter it spent out here. Shouldn't it go back to looking like normal AW-32 after it sits for...

My hydraulic fluid has water in it. I don't know how the water got into it, but it clearly has water in it. I have seen some articles on the web about getting the water out, but nothing looks too promising to me. Do any of you have any suggestions about mitigating the issue? We have had...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

When I first got my SEE I was a regular on this thread. I put a lot of work into getting it more or less functional. At that time I was living in the suburbs of Denver, and there was limited work I could do with the backhoe. My wife got tired of the rather large lawn ornament and I moved it...

Easier still is just to clip the leads of Power Probe II to battery and test it out, No wrench involved

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Thanks all for your replies. I guess now that the fans may actually be OK, but my spider sense tells me not likely. I have a power probe II and I will hook it up to the battery and try to apply 24 volts to it to see if they kick on. Does anyone know what temperature they are supposed to kick...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Last night after I posted, I did what I should have done to start with, and followed the adage RTMS "Read The Manual Stupid". In the manual on diagnosing those fans it says 74. HYDRAULIC OIL COOLER FANS WILL NOT OPERATE. NOTE Vehicle MASTER disconnect switch must be ON and ignition switch...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

How are you all? I have had a busy year or so, and have not had much time to do much other than keep putting on foot in front of the other. In the last year I have dealt with years of differed maintenance on our former home, and sold it. Bought two 40' high cube shipping containers and moved...

Redux: MEP 803a no power to main lugs

I have very similar symptoms to this thread: MEP 803a no power to main lugs My generator is not outputting any current at the main lugs but is at the convenience receptacle as described on the above thread. I believe that it was putting out current at the main lugs last spring after I got all...

MEP 803a no power to terminal lugs

Thanks Guy, I will start a new thread as you suggest, I was just responding to LITD's post asking for clarification. That is why I did not start a new thread. I started a new thread here https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/redux-mep-803a-no-power-to-main-lugs.202510/

MEP 803a no power to terminal lugs

My generator is not outputting any current at the main lugs but is at the convenience receptacle as described on this thread. I believe that it was putting out current at the main lugs last spring after I got all the issues with the diesel engine ironed out and it running well. I never had a...

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

I did a little reading on the diesel 911 issue, and there is some controversy about if it is an issue or not. The thing is like a lot of internet issues long on opinions, not much on hard facts. The claim is that it will gum up your injectors. I don't know, but I doubt they could sell the stuff...

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

I finally got down to my property where the SEE is now and with my nephew's help I was able to get it running again. The solution is not one I have seen suggested here, but it worked for me. We installed a electric fuel pump. 24 volt pump $15 We installed it by splicing it in to the rubber...

What's best way to use the SEE to unload a 40' shipping container

Well I will find out on Thursday and let you know.

What's best way to use the SEE to unload a 40' shipping container

I have a friend that is hauling a 40' high cube shipping container for me. He has a new trailer and worried about damaging the trailer when we unload. I told him there is no way we are going to just lift it off. The easiest way but likely most expensive would be to buy some OSB sheets to...

    New FLU419 Owner, Electrical Woes

This is not the one that matters to the gauges. The three wires mount directly to the cab. Trace the brown wire from the instrument cluster back until you find where it attaches.

    New FLU419 Owner, Electrical Woes

Sorry all for my prolonged absence on the topic. I second getting a power probe 2. It really takes a lot of mystery out of diagnosing this stuff, because you have the ability to bring power right to the gauge or whatever and verify functionality or lack of it with out even pulling it out of the...

What is a good mobile set up for using my MEP 803A

This is similar to what I had in mind, but I was thinking about running out door romex and creating a outlet on a post closer to each trailer. The consensus seems to be to just use regular extension cords. What gauge of wire did you use to connect the Sub-Panel to the generator? The time of...
