What is a good mobile set up for using my MEP 803A

This looks like a simple solution, but extension cords going all over. I will keep it in mind.

What is a good mobile set up for using my MEP 803A

There has to be a number of threads on this, but I have not been able to locate one. So I apologize in advance. What I am looking for is an appropriate way to use the generator when in the back country, a hunting camp for example. Rather than every body running their own noisy generator I...

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

Thanks Peakbagger. I have an old outboard squeeze bulb that I think will be serviceable for this test. I just gave a quick spray onto the air filter, I did not remove the air filter, just the outside lid. As Frank8003 said attempting to use a can of either as a fuel source is a really bad...

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

Well, I am prone to over thinking things as I am sure you know by now. I have fought air leaks in the past. This seems a lot different as it does not fire at all. I can try the Peakbagger hand pump trick and if that makes it run then I would be convinced it is an air leak. That is easy enough...

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

There is a either system for cold start, mine is not functional I just gave it a short burst on the air filter to verify that it was getting air. Not to have it run on the stuff. I have the TMs. I think this may be the procedure 1. ENGINE CRANKS BUT WILL NOT START OR HARD TO START. Step 1...

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

Yeah I made my own back when I was dealing with the supply lines out of some hardwood and a couple of carriage bolts. I drilled various size holes slightly smaller that the hose between the two pieces of hard wood. It worked OK but the hardwood was too slick and I had to add tape to the lines.

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

Sorry it was a busy day at work and I should have posted more info I started with the prescreen. There was some stuff in there, but not a lot. Basically enough to know it was serving a purpose, but not enough to makke me believe it was restricting the flow of fuel. I had a spare pre-screen...

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

OK Frank. The military runs JP-8, and there are a lot of comments on the quality of that. When I was a kid we ran #1 diesel in our old John Deere tractors, I might be able to source that. I will not argue the quality or merits of #2 Diesel I am sure we can generate a lot of discussion on...

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

Unlike a lot of you I have been relatively lucky with my fuel issues, I guess it is my turn now. When I bought my SEE, I had it delivered to my house in the city so that I could work on it. At that time it seemed to start and run just fine on the snake oil that was in the tank ( I assume JP8 )...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Thanks Speedwoble, you always give good advice. I have no intention of selling my SEE in the foreseeable future, nor do I plan on not fixing it. The problem is I don't really have time to fix it correctly before the move. My plan is to build a house and retire on the property I am moving the...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Pardon the long introduction, I have contracted a driver to haul the SEE to my property in south central Colorado, and of course now I am finding all kinds of issues. I have resolved them all, except the reservoir mounted on the clutch master cylinder has had a slow steady loss of fluid that...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

I pulled the old return line off, and built a new one from the Viton hose I bought. I replaced it, cleaned all the diesel from the engine and inside the cover. When I fired it up it I could see no leaks. I think that the problems with the leaks are resolved. In the course of installing the...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

I believe I have found the source of the leak. It was hydraulic fluid, but Dot 5 break fluid not AW32. This also explains why the reservoir over the clutch master keeps going down. I was surprised that only the reservoir over the clutch was going down so I thought for sure that leak was...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

While crawling around under my SEE, I discovered a steady stream of what I believe is hydraulic oil running down the rear drive shaft cover. I have been hunting for the source but can't seem to locate it. As fast as the oil is flowing, it should not be that hard to find. It seems to start under...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

My search was specifically for Viton 3.5 mm which did not yield good results. I was perhaps a bit to broad in my statement that I had not found such a thing. A better question to have asked is since I have already ordered the 1/8" Viton will I run into any issues in using it, or should I return...

Prepping a Gen trailer for the road home.

I recently picked up the genset I won from Fort Carson, and did not have any major issue. The biggest problem I had was that the pin that holds the pintel hook in to the tongue of the trailer was about a third of the way out. (See my post here) The mag trailer lights are a good idea, but I will...
