I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

The one I bought does not have the tool box, and the genset is on backwards. That is why I think that either the original purpose of the trailer was not for a generator, or the generator was pulled off, the trailer used for something else and the genset put back on sans tool box plus all the...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

Thanks, after a quick search on the trailer thread it looks like DOT 5, probably I will just have to see what is in it. You don't want to mix DOT 5 with anything else. Of course since the cap is off I probably need to figure out a way to flush the lines.

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

If I dig a little on the trailer forum I can probably get an answer, but does anyone know what kind of brake fluid they use in these trailers? is it silicone dot 5 like in the SEE, or regular dot 3/4? I don't intend to be burning up the track to get it to the land, but it might not be a bad...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

Sorry I got a little off topic on some of my earlier posts, I have edited that stuff out now. I will be happy to send what I posted if you are interested. just PM me. I have no idea what all the straps are from. but they do not seem to be present on any of the other genset's that I have seen. I...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

Thanks for the tip Light. I did not catch that it was on backward. The strap holding it down did seam a little strange to me. I had thought about using my handyman jack to get the tongue up, but it is probably better to get GP to help me get it on the hitch. I think I will throw in a pair of...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

Well like they say, when you assume, you make and ASS out of U and ME. ;) I will be patient, and look it over carefully. If I don't get to try to crank it this weekend that will be fine. Since I am taking it out to my property, that is the most likely outcome. A stool will not be very handy out...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

OK, here goes my MEP-803A when I tried it with the SEE I bought the post never came up

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

Thanks Mike, I am intending to change out all the filters so I will let the pumps run for 10 minutes or so before I try to start it, if I even get that far this weekend. I will not try to start it with out the fuse mod, but probably will not buy the parts just on the chance that it has not been...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

I bought it from GP, it is located at Ft Carson. I intend to go pick it up either on Friday or Saturday depending on scheduling with GP. I bought it on the 12th, for 1600. I would post a link to it, but SS frowns on that. If you look it should be easy to find.

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

Thanks everyone, from the pictures the inside of the engine compartment seems pretty clean (i.e. oil and coolant free). To my untrained eye, I don't see anything major missing except for the box on the front where the accessories are kept, and the landing gear. I don't really think it has been...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

I should have added that it says all the fluids have been drained and the batteries were missing. It is odd to me that it shows one of the optima red top batteries in one of the pictures, but who knows, likely they would need to be changed out anyway. To any one else wondering about initial...

I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

I bought one of the GP MEP-803A gensets. It was sold "Not operationally checked", so it is a bit of a crap shoot. I was wondering if anyone else is willing to share their experiences with buying one of these. I have been going through the MEP-803A threads, and I ordered filters oil belt etc. and...

    Trailer lights on MEP-803A trailer

Thanks to everyone that contributed to this thread. I will be using the magnetic trailer lights when I go to pick it up. I always had that in the back of my mind as the likely solution, but I figured that eventually I would be modifying the trailer wiring so I could tow it with a civilian truck...

    Trailer lights on MEP-803A trailer

Is this the cover you were talking about? Also do you know if there are civi equivalent bulbs, from the parts manual I see W-L-00111/60, MS35478-1073, and MS15570-89 part numbers. When I search on these they appear to be available from walmart, amazon, ebay and others but seem pricey.

    Trailer lights on MEP-803A trailer

This is helpful, I have not actually seen it except from pictures that GP supplies. TM 9-6115-660-13&P indicates it is PU-798. So assuming that the TM is correct, this will make connecting it up a lot cleaner / easier than what I had in mind. I am still trying to confirm the trailer type. I have...

    Trailer lights on MEP-803A trailer

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for. I don't intend to have it on the road that much. The magnetic lights are still probably the best option, but I like to have more than one option.

    Trailer lights on MEP-803A trailer

Row, row, row your trailer gently down the street. ;) My wife was eager for us to get started on our Valentines evening and I did not get a chance to proof read my post before I posted. Thanks for the tip on going to the trailer forum. I will give that a try. My thought was I could just...

    Trailer lights on MEP-803A trailer

For better or worse I am now the owner of a trailer mounted MEP-803A gen set. It is close to where I live, so I intend to row it. I know it will be slow going, but like I said I don't have far to go. The pintel hitch is easy to deal with, and I can splice in a different electrical connector...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

That is great, you have helped a lot. I found the kit using your part number it came right up. I had just given up, and was going to seal the air line from the venturi valve with a homemade gasket. I had searched for the part kit all over, with no luck. Closest I came was a company in turkey...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Thanks for the info, I knew you had an air dryer from old posts, but your last post on it was a long time ago so I assumed that you had installed it by now. Based on this statement "My limited understanding is in very cold conditions both may be needed" I guess I am less inclined to install...
