    Choctaw H140 heater cycles a lot.....normal?

Gents, Ran into an issue this past week , my ceiling mounted Reznor heater crapped out (1 1/2 year old unit, PC board issue) in our pole barn. I hooked the Choctaw 140 back up, and seem to be getting a flame out about every 10 minutes. The heater will run through two cycles...

5-Ton (M816) Oil Pressure Gauge Question

Try this one: http://www.eriksmilitarysurplus.com/prga0psmsfa.html (it's a 24v gauge, call them they can find one for you) I ran into the same problem with my 817 and called the above (spoke with Erik).......they're an invaluable source for finding replacement parts (along with our members)...

    USAF Thiokol 4T10

Absolutely awesome!! After following your 601 thread, I'm actively looking for a Bombardier Bombi (I considered a SW48, but no seating for the kids).

    Mice

I couldn't figure out why my snow plow switch (to a Haldex hydraulic pump) wasn't working......until I looked in the battery box (M925) and found this....(see if you can see it in the 1st picture). They built a nest after coming in through the battery box vent hole (which now post mice is...

Everyone's method for removing rusty, flakey paint?

Ditto on the Northern Tool wet sand blasting. You'll need a good gas pressure washer (say around 3000+ psi) to create the suction to pull the sand up (keep the venturi tube dry!). It works very well....very slowly. Once complete, dry and clean....apply a rust converter like OSPHO...

MEP-003A just goes click when trying to start - fully charged fresh batteries

Check the polarity from the batteries to the starter (it was reversed on mine when I picked it up from GL).....same exact symptoms. Looked at your pictures, polarity looks good.....maybe clean all the connections, might help.

Assembling the Stainless Steel Lined PTFE hose fittings

Thank you. I wish this write up was available 6 months ago.......I must of cut the braided hose 4 times before getting it right. I used 8an fittings throughout the fuel system...worked like a charm. These PTFE hoses are a huge step up from the old rubber hoses.

Assembling the Stainless Steel Lined PTFE hose fittings

Awesome write up!! I used a the same hose for fuel lines on a DD453 I rebuilt over the winter. The critical part was cutting the braided hose with a fiber cut off wheel (took a couple tries to figure out that was the best method). Once the braid comes undone.....impossible to connect the...

    Todays Govliq loadout. How'd I do ? : D

You are correct......one phase 220. I some how have the thought that two 110 lines (like what comes into the home) is two "phases", two lines. This is why I ALWAYS hire an electrician to do anything that isn't DC power (including hooking up my mep-002 to the house).

    Todays Govliq loadout. How'd I do ? : D

Well done sir! I own the same compressor with a two phase 5 HP motor..it's been bullet proof for two years now.

    Choctow H-140 Heater parts needed

I ended up using the same duct from Lowes.....it didn't last in the outside elements (wind tore it apart). I plan on using a flexible steel duct this winter (wrap in insulation)......and hope that holds up. On a side note, I found an issue with the supplied plug (after splicing into the...

    Choctow H-140 Heater parts needed

I called Choctaw for parts last year....they did not have anything in stock for the H-140 (I was looking for the flexible ducts). If you can't find the elbow, it can be easily fabricated (flange with 4 hole bolt pattern welded to a 90 degree elbow). These heaters are fantastic! I used it...

got screwed on an m939.... crap

I used to own a house in New River AZ (north of Care Free off 17)........there is ALOT of rental space for boats, campers, 6x6's........find an MV friendly lessor and wouldn't be surprised if you get a great deal.

M936 5 ton wrecker for scrap metal use?

An old rough terrain crane would be ideal. I picked up one a little over a year ago......spent most weekends working on it to bring it back up to spec. They can be had cheap (i.e. on the verge of going to the scrapper like mine), but they can lift 30k without the boom extended, 3k at 60 ft...

    Engine ground

I went through the same with a Mep 002. The difference was the cables were reversed at the starter.......that took a little while to figure out....as who does that?
