the tank sits above the whole engine and radiator so even if the tank only has a small amount of coolant in it, the important parts of the system are completely full. I don't know if this matters in your case, have you bled air out of the system with that doo hickey at the front of the...
I am working on getting mine, have the permit, just need to do the driving test. I suggest try walking into the dmv office and picking up the training guide/manual if they have one. Here they are about a 50 page, paper booklet. In there it tells when a CDL is required. I think I have this...
I picked up a M923a2 in July 2013 from GL and it does the same thing. The yellow thing inside the glass rises up and stays at a line that states '250'
The truck does not smoke when warmed up, except under load. The filter looks new and somebody wrote on the end of it 7/2012.
An ex army truck...
The part about the neighbor claiming the land.... Do you have a mortgage? If so the mortgage company/financial institution would be interested if the land they have the mortgage on is now smaller in size. Is there a title policy? if so, what does it state on it's legal description of the...
study the 5 tons on GL, many of them have depot rebuilds within the last few years and have low miles and are in super shape so if you only use the truck occasionally you prolly are not going to need to change parts out. I picked up a 923a2 in NV in july and drove it home 860 miles. it has a...
I picked mine up at Nellis in July, same thing, it went thru KS sustainment unit, new engine built by Dresser. Note your engine oil filter (sits behind alternator) is painted same color as engine, so was mine. I changed mine right away. The trans oil filter is easy to change too. Good luck...
I thought I saw on GL in the area about title work is that if GL has determined that your state requires a title instead of a SF97, they send a title. I got a SF 97 and had to have a vin verification because the paperwork was from out of state.
So the Marines used the M923a1 that maybe had lockers and it looks like a M923a2 but does not have CTIS? is that what is fooling some of us, the a1 looks like the a2?
sorry if I am causing anymore confusion in any way, do not mean too, just trying to clarify.
Depends on what you are going to use if for. I just do parades. I bought first deuce from private owner, used it two years and sold it. I bought second deuce from GL, needed lots of work, used it two years and sold it. I bought a M923a2 frm GL in July and have used it for 4 parades already...
I saw them on a line of Marine M923a2's at a large surplus truck place. They were behind the jerry can mount on top of the rear tool box on the passenger side just like mentioned above.
Congrats. I had the same thing happen with the leading edge of the cab cover on the drive home, so did a buddy. I used gorilla glue, clamped a 3 ft long 2x4 on it for about 6 hrs then spray painted over the glue runs and expansion that were showing as yellow.
I found military paperwork in mine showing what unit was turning it in and what date they were turning it in and how much they paid for it. I bet GL had that paperwork and that's how they know the year.
lots of very good answers already. I have owned two deuces and now own a 923a2. if I were you, I would start with a deuce and then later have a 900 series for fun, kinda hard to explain, I really like the 923a2 but really glad I learned on the deuces and I am not planning on having to do any...
On these 900 series you don't need hearing protection. You can have a conversation with a passenger while driving along, it's nothing like a deuce. My 923a2 has full rubber matting in the cab floor, not just steel like a deuce. It has a exhaust system existing behind the cab, with a large...
for what it's worth, I recently heard from two army truck mechanics that they would give a smack with a hammer on the protective control box and the truck would start.
I have a titled M923a2 in CO that I bought from GL in July.
It seems the titling and/or plating issues are state specific.
If you bought my truck with a CO title, you still may have an issue titling it in another state that is more picky and may not accept the CO title due to the vehicle.
just a...
here is a guy doing it in a deuce, I found this by goggle search.
