Yup, I am planning to, just didn't have any tools with me at the time. Thought I'd see if it sounded like a control box first before I screw around out in the cold , I'm sick of winter already.
Batt gauge did move, you can tell it seemed like it was taking a load of some sort. No clicking, except what sounded like a relay when the swtich first goes to start. Nothing like a start solenoid or anything.
I don't need to move it, just would like to fire it up now and then. I just got...
Went to start my M818 this past weekend, and got nothing. I flipped the batt switch everything was as normal. Flipped the other switch to start and it wouldn't turn over. The batt gauge went into the yellow, but nothing still.
I thought maybe batt's were really low, so I slaved over my M342...
I ended up making bushings for my 3/4" feet, worked just fine.
I finally did get a set of 1" feet, but after my first towbar experience, it may have also been my last. No I'm not selling my feet :)
If your only hooked to one battery how can you get a feedback greater than 12v? I know I've put a meter on each individual battery while hooked up and they read 12V. Not trying to sound like an ass, just curious.
I had trouble starting mine after it say for 2 weeks. My 5 ton wouldn't start either. Ended up pushing them close together, and slaving them. All 6 batt's together started the deuce w/ some starting fluid pretty quick. Once that was running, the 5 ton quickly started also. I guess I need to...
I should probably just read the manual, but since this is being asked.....When I turn my preheater to "on" the red light doesn't come on, but if I turn it further and hold it, the red light comes on, and it does heat up the intake.
Should it be coming on when the switch is just in the "on"...
I was thinking about doing this as well, mostly for EGT's when the fuel gets turned up. Although it sounds like there isn't much gain to be had.
For those complaining about noise, you could gut it and pipe it out back by the tires like the 5-ton gassers.
One thing I HATE about the...
No, I don't have the linkage hooked up yet. The thought had crossed my mind, but I started it up also, and from my experience I can usally get a trans out of gear if the motor is spinning.
I guess I'll wait till it's hooked up and hope for the best.
Thanks for the TM# Gringel
