Has anyone mounted a RAK 15 or RAK 30 in a CUCV?

I recently acquired a few RAK 15 units and was thinking about mounting one in my CUCV truck......Wondered if anyone else had done this and where they mounted it. Not a lot of room in the truck so I am curious if anyone has done it and where they mounted it. Please post pics if you have.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

That would definitely explain the extra holes. It wouldn't be that difficult to make new struts to even go beyond what you have to snug up the top...I have seen a few CUCV covers floating around, but I don't think any of them were priced below $500....new struts might only be a 10-15 foot piece...

Thats what the big fella standing on the tailgate is for LOL...the human handrail (and he can catch a falling wine taster too!)

The holes on my struts where the ones that are indented. Originally, it looks like there was a plastic sleeve in each of the holes to guide the bolt in though the bracket on the bed rail, but not sure if they had those same sleeves for the extension holes as well. The lower hole on your picture...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

My struts only had one hole to pin them to length. It put them at the full extension for the top. My biggest issue was not having the center limiting strap. I went to HB and picked up a pair of the 1 inch by 12-foot cam straps and connected them into one big loop and did an approximate height...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I have been working on installing a troop seat kit and a cargo cover on the M1028. I am still waiting on some parts to finish up the last 2 seats and I still need to remove and paint the seat slats on a few of the seats. I installed the cargo cover hardware and got that on today. All things...

Cargo cover frame restoration - Bow top strap dimensions?

Looks great....where did you source your turn button fasteners. I need to replace mine and have yet to find any that have the single rivet like how they came. dreading drilling 2 holes each for all of the turn buttons.

    M1009 Drivers side alternator

I have the rare electric ones in my CUCV...the only thing different was the pulley size was a little smaller. Just means you may have to buy a shorter belt. I had enough space on the adjustment slot to install and use the original sized belts. So far very happy with them. Mounting bolt holes and...

    Solargizer install question

I mounted mine on the hood and ran the wires under the back of the hood. Solar panel sits up near the corner of the passenger side of the hood......gets sunlight all day and no holes drilled into anywhere, just wire management under the hood and around the batteries.
