    M923A2... Common Issues/Review

I get double vision reading this thread....:p

Anyone put a travel trailer on a Deuce or 5 ton?

DH- that is a possibility. And I like the campers I have seen. And they can be had CHEAP around here. But there is a lot more room in the trailers and I could dedicate a truck to it, so the bed and it's weight could go. Also, the holding tanks, drains, etc etc seem to be suited to the "bedless"...

Anyone put a travel trailer on a Deuce or 5 ton?

Right. I looked at the frame of a travel trailer, and they are way smaller than any 2.5 or 5ton. Some flex is built in to trailers, but not enough to be a problem.

    New Owner M923A1 w/pics

Very cool. I think these things are so wild that people aren't really ready to cause problems as you drive by... I'm thinking we should have some kind of recognition for those crazy enough to make recoveries of 300-500 miles or more. Maybe a 'Steel Butt' club or something. Anyway, you're in!

Anyone put a travel trailer on a Deuce or 5 ton?

I was thinking of the A/C thing too. But I'm quite a bit north of you in the summer, so can get away w/o A/C.

Congrats on the good trip back. How many miles was the recovery- one way- driving the M923A1 back to your place?

Anyone put a travel trailer on a Deuce or 5 ton?

My idea is to remove the cargo bed and mount a travel trailer directly to the frame rails. Has anyone done this or pursued the idea? Picture #1 is similar to my idea. Of course I would not go so far behind the rear axle. Maybe a 14' trailer. But this idea is really making my leg twitch… Pic...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Minor work done: LED tail lights, reflectors & reflector tape. It's almost blinding to light it up at night. I think I might add some more tape down lower- flaps or axle.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Haven't had mine too long, but I've got a lot of miles under me and I find the trans to be awesome. Very smooth shifting esp. compared to the way the M35A3 shifts! I have no knowledge but I assume the trans could be easily rebuilt.

I'd bet that if you offer to bring in donuts or something for everyone in the office- she would give you priority. As for my pick-up, it was totally inconvenient and difficult. But I expect that and am seldom disappointed
