after manually priming, truck starts, then dies

Having gone through a heck of a stomach virus this week... best advise I can provide is.... do not try to pass gas... not even an sbd (that stands for silent but deadly... for those untrained in the art) ... see, I was quite surprised when I found that the particular sbd was bringing...

after manually priming, truck starts, then dies

Ditto... and on top of that, when the TM's were issued, several "educational" training sessions accompanied the issuance (with the exception being the comic book... reminders) during which most if not all of the crucial details of the manuals are brought to light... (normal people light) I can...

after manually priming, truck starts, then dies

It's funny how sometimes, no matter how many TM's and PM's you dissect, that sitting around with a bunch of guys that have similar equipment and are sharing your woes, that someone else inevitably has had, if not exactly the same problem, one so similar that you would swear it was on the same...

after manually priming, truck starts, then dies

Thanks for the ideas. I will pressurize the system and look... but even if not, it is not that difficult to just replace the lot of hoses to and from tanks, valve and ip. Off the top of your head, remember which line size to get and approx how many feet? Truck is not near me and is in a...

after manually priming, truck starts, then dies

no, I haven't. But I may do a "hose changeover" since they are the original ones and almost 40 years old now. Good idea on the tank tho

after manually priming, truck starts, then dies

Right, but after she starts up the second time, she runs great. and if I shut her off and restart a couple of hours later, she goes just fine. It is as if I develop an air bubble in the system, and when it starts, it is ok until the air bubble gets to the ip.

after manually priming, truck starts, then dies

After 818 sits for a couple of days, when I try to start, I have to manually pump the fuel. Holding the pedal about 1/2 of the way down, she starts right up but shortly thereafter, she dies and after repriming and cranking the engine for a while she then starts and runs like a top.I noticed...

How well do the brakes on your cucv work?

That Dot 5 brake fluid is a wonderful thing, but requires great patience grasshopper... I read where you used the mightyvac, but if during the install or changeover you did a full travel pedal to the metal push, your master just traveled into lands not previously known and more than likely...

I would like to see more pics and mechanical details of your truck-she looks like a beauty... Picked up my M818 on Thursday, first MV

Nice Grab! Keep us posted on your Tailer on bed mod. I too have an 818 and have even considered the bed to sit on top of the 5th wheel... would need scaffolding to get anything in and out of bed... but no notching needed -:) ... then looked at members with trailer beds that were not modified...

    springer seats

Thank you all... I believe I will have to bite the proverbial bullet and do a test. Running my deuce or my 818 w stock seats is trying at best. I believe that retro-fitting one of these seats will make the ride much more enjoyable. I have a T8 vertebra compression fracture that happened while...

    Tall Guy looking for options

The way I look at it is... if you don't have to use a clutch... + points... if your steering wheel is smaller... ++ points... My biggest biggest problem is using the clutch... where my left leg gets into a bind with the window winder or the door... I took care of my needs with shifting the...

    Tall Guy looking for options

I think a lot has to do with ... where you are taller... if you have long legs, you are in trouble... I actually took my pedals off the deuce and the 818 and added extra pedal notches in both the brake and clutch pedal and now I can shift without opening the door:smile:. Interestingly enough...
