XM818 vs. Walking Floor trailer... Who wins???

Well.... Doing testing on the pumping system of my M35 fire truck... 5 Ton is in great shape (or was) sitting on the sideline... My trucks are parked way out of the way at my site (wood yard)... this idiot pulling a 100 yard walking floor trailer took a shortcut... nicked my fender, hooked my...

    Battery cut off switch

Guys, those truck/heavy equipment truck switches are designed to go between the ground and the neg battery terminal. The reason is that under those conditions, the worst that happens when the switch fails and desintegrates (and they do... believe me!) the ground disconect install just does...

Ian, my hat is off to you. You and your crew did an awesome job. wig wags on a Deuce Fire Truck

    >>> OK you peaked my interest>>> How do you know??? BTW, as far as war stories go... I was a local PO in Gainesville, FL on patrol responding to "Robbery in Progress call" in my zone. When the call went out, I was stopped in a line of over 50 cars on a 2 lane road (some individual was stalled)...

wig wags on a Deuce Fire Truck

Know what? that is what is great about this hobby! I like fire trucks... I like lights... I have a business that depends on fire trucks... these trucks don't need a turbo, nor singles, nor strobes, nor sirens, but it strokes me... and I think that is what is important... at least to me... a...

wig wags on a Deuce Fire Truck

Wig wags are usually what you don't want to see in your rear view mirror... it is what alternately flashes the high beam (R+L) in the headlights in a patrol car or a fire truck... Friend just called to tell me that Truck-Lites makes a gizmo that should work... but I would still need to...

wig wags on a Deuce Fire Truck

OK... Never enough lights!!! Now I want Wig Wags for my High beams, but trying to not reinvent the wheel. All of the "official" wig wags I have found are 12 Volt. To use them in a 24 Volt system I would have to incorporate relays and diodes since I still want to keep my high beams for whenever...

OK a little help,,, pump and roll on a fire truck that does not really allow for that

I have a friend that suggested running the pump through the crankshaft pulley... you know... punch a hole in the radiator... place 2 pillow blocks... mount it in the front of the truck (he actually has a deuce where the front bumper sticks out 4 feet or so) where the 500 GPM hale pump lives...

OK a little help,,, pump and roll on a fire truck that does not really allow for that

Well.. Yeah... that is sort of the idea... The plan is (or was) once the tank was full, you could have 2 hand lines in use while the truck moved near the fire... If you use the transfer case pto pump as set up now... your truck will be in transfer neutral... and stopped... Looks like I am going...

    M35 Fire truck WOT 2000 rpm 44 mph ... what's up?

mine did too, but as soon as I started driving, the brake pedal got harder and harder, until it just would not budge... by then my brakes were dragging... eventually to the point that the truck would not move... someone here had mentioned abouit the airpack leaking causes this... but, I believe...
