Should i go with Green or Camo on a m1009

re-touched, re-done, re-did I re-did some of my camo because I did not like the blobs. Large patches of green and brown and then black that is supposed to look like tree branches, is better in my opinion.

Should i go with Green or Camo on a m1009

3 color woodland camo someone above mentioned they dont have the skill for painting camo. If I can do it anyone can. I have done two deuces free hand with spray cans. I printed out pics of camo trucks off the internet, 4 pics; driver side, pass. side and a front and a back pic. One way to...

    Towing deuce with deuce

You do not need to secure the wheel of the one being towed. On turns, the towed vehicle's front wheels will turn and follow you on their own. One weird thing is... get rolling before you make a turn. If you try pulling a towed vehicle at an angle from a stopped position, its front wheels will...

    Front axle boots and seals

gentle readers, it is with concern that we come before you today..... It appears his question is/was... has anyone else experienced their zippered boots dry-rotting or cracking in a short time.... I just put a zippered boot on my right front. I just ordered the boots and seals from Memphis...

    Vehicle on Display

my bad I guess I need stronger reading glasses. I put a frown face on the post originally when really I thought I had clicked on a smiley one. It's not easy getting old.

    Vehicle on Display

I had my truck on display this weekend at a city park in Colorado Springs. The event is called Springs Spree. Kind of a small fair/carnival kinda deal. Must have had about 150 kids sit in the cab over two days with their parents taking pics. This is a military town so also had lots of guys in...

So, what's the deal with trailer prices? My weekend rant.

I guess the original question is why do M101's sell for so much more than the bigger M105's. Good answers. Just to chime in....my M105 goes behind my deuce for parades, that's it. The M105 weighs 2,750 lbs. empty. The M101 evidently works good behind regular full size suv's and pickups for...

    Front axel boot questions?

I replaced my rf inner axle seal a couple weeks ago. You could definitely tell it was dripping axle oil and not grease, onto the wheel rim. I ordered the inner and outer seals and boots from Memphis Equip. They sent me zipper boots, was not expecting that. We shall see how long the zipper...

    M35 A2 animal marking

Coyote - State animal of SD I think I remember some other thread about this. I googled ' coyote south dakota' and found it is the state animal of South Dakota. Appears some state guard units put that silohuette on their vehicles.

    parade preparations

Done many a parade hauling the Marine Corps League in back. Low range, 2nd gear, use the throttle thing on the dash to set speed like cruise control. Open up the windshield and you should be good. USA Flag flies higher than any other flag on truck at right front. Just like the previous posts...

    Pimary Filter Housing Removal

Just changed mine recently, the nut you have to turn is in the area under the alternator. It is hard to get to and only room enough to make short turns with the wrench. I had to keep flipping the open-end wrench over for the different angle of approach with the wrench. It is a pain.

    My first oil change...

I had read up on here before changing mine. I keep a deuce notebook by the laptop and write down part #'s and stuff as I read. Stuff like, filter #'s, specifications, belt #s, hose #s, etc. Things I will need to know in the future. I let the oil drain for about a half hour into two empty...

    newer deuce

I had a 1970 M35a2 that came out of refurb in 1987, was a NE national guard truck. Now I have a 1987 M35a2c that appears to have only 14,400 original miles on it, local air force truck. Both were built by AM General. The later truck has a dual air pack brake system as opposed to single air pack...

Deuce Engine years of manuf. by producer

ok, beat me up, but over the 1965 to 1989 period of deuce random production, whom was specified to build the engines for these thangs and at what calendar areas? It seems like if there was a large production order at one or another time, maybe all three were called to arms; Hercules...

    Not enought numbers in VIN

Best of luck I had the same problem recently in Colorado for a truck I won at a GL auction. I paid extra for the SF97 and then they made me get a VIN verification form filled out by a dealer. They were still confused. I explained to them that this here thing came out of the military and it...

    HEMTT Question

Oshkosh trucks Like someone mentioned above, Oshkosh has a program where the old trucks get sent back to the factory and run down the line again getting all the new updates, saves the taxpayers a lot of money. Oshkosh has some great websites with pics and vids and all the info you want on all...

    High pitch whine above 40mph...

Mr. Shadetree writes.... Dear Merlot person: I had a similar issue in a former 1971 deuce I owned. I changed the fluids in all three axles, and the trans and the transfer case and I added a quart of Lucas gear oil in each of the above-mentioned units along with the wallyworld MT-1 gear oil...

Deuce Engine years of manuf. by producer

That is an interesting question. I wonder if David Doyle, author and member studies this part of the duece puzzle. My '71 duece had a Continental but the truck had been depot overhauled in '85. My current '87 truck which is original (no rebuild) has a White in it. That would be kinda cool to...
