I have read a lot about motor mounts after ordering the wrong ones and find that most say that the ones that fit are also the same as a 1983 350v8 gas motor mount. What I want to do is get the energy suspension inserts. The problem is I have to order them so I need to know if the 350 gas mount...
I've got one that looks new inside but that diode is gone and the plastic shaft for the tuner is broke like the knob got hit. I'm not sure that shaft is easily replaced either. I have no test equipment and didn't want to adjust anything or re-tune. Thanks
I see the same rear lights on ebay except 12 volt and 6 volt. I guess I will have to wait for a 24v. If you can post the model numbers of the siren and top light that would be appreciated.
With a little more reading, mine appears to be a 530b as it has the 500gpm pump, and no foam nozzle at least now. I need to find a owners manual so I can figure out how to operate it. I need hose too.
Where would it say 530 a or b? I don't know the differences. It is a 1968. I'm also looking for the siren. Was the siren and top beacon 24v? They removed the lights off the back too and won't let me have them. Were they 24 volt too? I see the same ones on ebay but they are all 12v. Thanks for...
I tried googling the parts but couldn't find the electronic parts inside that are needed. Found some cables and stuff but nothing electronic. Is anyone trying to fix their antenna bases and know where to find parts?
Thanks
Thanks Guys, I would hate to see a truck like that get bobbed. There were other deuces sold that night. One without a bed went for 2500 and an '85 with a dropside that looked better went for 2015. I thought prices were very good, but I haven't been following the market like I should. This truck...
I bought this truck off GSA last night. The one thing I find unusual is that it doesn't have a stack. I have looked at pictures of other M45a2's and they all had the usual exhaust stack. My M49a2C is non turbo, has a muffler and the stack pipe diameter is smaller than a normal turbo'ed deuce...
I have a M49a2c that was used by a fire dept. They used it as a brush truck. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a deuce fire truck. A little confusing about the numbers. Very cool video. Thanks
How is it done with a 12 volt trailer... brakes and all? As far as creating an imbalance from working off only 1 battery, can you move your batteries around if one starts showing a little lower charge when full?
Thanks
Since you're getting new tires, you might as well dismount the old tires and check for rust inside. If you find any rust and don't sand blast it, I have found rustoleum rusty metal primer works well after you get most of the rust off.
I agree with the idea of restoring your original wheels, but I wouldn't spend the money powder coating. I know it's ideal, but they are just black wheels, flat black is forgiving and I'm cheap.
When I 1st acquired my water buffalo it had a slight yellow tint to the stainless. After I cleaned it(which was easy) it became very bright inside that tank. I thought it may have been the microscopic beginnings of rust, but it all wiped out, making me think there was iron in the water that was...
I don't know how to tell if the tank is stainless steel. I guess I could look for a scratch and see if there is rust. That coating is keeping the shine from showing on the inside. I had read that the C in M49a2C meant stainless but how accurate that is I don't know.
I thought mine had is 1200 gal split into 2 tanks. Since it has baffles, I can't get to most of it for washing. Mine is also coated with something. It is a tan color, going from memory. It is a steel tank, possibly stainless. Did the stainless tanks get coated? I have a water buffalo that is...
I've got to investigate how it's plumbed and how fast it takes to get the other tank online. Also if I could link the tanks so I can fill them together. From what I have read the 2 600 gal tanks are separate. It would be good and easy if the truck were home to figure all this out.
