    Hand Operated Throttle on m1008?

I have seen a throttle control on some M1028's that had serious comm. gear in the back at some point. These were all on the 1987 models with the 200-amp charging system. BKubu had one, so he might remember better (or, he might have a pic of it), but I think it was mounted in the dash and...

I would probably take you up on that offer, but I doubt I will be able to make this one... If something changes, I'll get up with you and maybe we can ride out together.

    cost of cucvs new

I was wrong about the $11K M1028 figure: $14,141.00 for an M1028 I think I have numbers on a few of the other shelter carriers, but since the rest of them were converted M1028's or M1031/M1028A1's, I'm not sure how accurate they are...

    cost of cucvs new

The M1008A1 had comminications/radio gear (racks and wiring) and they both had troop seats and cargo covers that the M1028 didn't have. That might expalin the difference in price from the M1028 to the M1008.

    cost of cucvs new

    $32,990.00 for an M1009 $31,249.00 for an M1008A1 $15,751.00 for an M1008 $16,902.00 for an M1031 $37,409.00 for an M1010 I think an M1028 was around $11K, but I can't find the shelter carrier info right now...

    The waits over m1028a1

Congratulations. Was it your first EUC? Waiting on a first EUC stinks, but it feels great when it comes through.

    how bad is your yard?

Well, I'm close, but not quite that many trucks sitting in the yard. I do have two 24'x48' buildings full of cars/trucks (4 in one, 5 in the other), in addition to the two trucks, one car, and seven various trailers sitting outside. I just pulled a M1009 into one of the buildings to strip, so...

    Value of Sprag Transfer Cases

rofl That's funny right there! (In my best "Larry The Cable Guy" voice). I'll go along with BKubu and JasonS. If you can get over $100, you're doing well, but expect more like $50. If it works...

    M1009 Flywheel question

Get the flexplate for a TH400 automatic (use a 1986 K30 pickup 6.2/TH400 if you need to). The civvy Blazer had the 700R4, not the TH400. They have different part #'s.

TH400 shift speeds? And i have this momentary wobble that goes away...

As for the wobble, check the tranny mount, tire balancing and front end parts (king-pins, tie-rod ends, etc).

TH400 shift speeds? And i have this momentary wobble that goes away...

Those aren't crazy shift points, but you can rotate the top of the vacuum valve on the passenger side of the IP toward the rear of the truck to lower the shift points. Higher shift point means more line pressure and firmer shifts which usually equals longer tranny life (not that you will drive...

M1009 and M1008 shafts are different. Have a new one made at a 4x4 shop.

How about the trailer brake controls? Since the bed doesn't seem to match the rest of the truck, it looks like it might have been an M52 tractor at one time.

    Hauling a deuce

It sounds like you have experience hauling these types of loads. While I would not personally recommend it with an F250, it would depend on distance and route. 20-50 miles of backroads, I'd probably do it. Major highways, no way. You can't ignore the stupidity of other drivers, which is why I...

    painting over carc

As Gimpy said, CARC dust is not good for you. Prepping the surface is critical and some sanding will most certainly be involved. Be sure to wear a QUALITY respirator while sanding/blasting. You can paint over CARC with CARC, but you'll need to prime any bare metal with the correct (epoxy?)...
