    5 ton tractor differences

The M916 and M920 line haul tractors have Cummins engines and rear winches. Cat semi-automatic trannies too. Harder to find and not cheap.

    Only 230 Hours on CUCV

I saw a 5-ton recently with a mileage of something like "327,123" and the pic of the speedometer clearly showed 32712.3, so you never can believe what gets tracscribed into the listing description...

    Knocking 6.2

I doubt you need a new engine, but I just listed a HMMWV take-out in the can in the classifieds.

CUCV. M-1028 rear gears 10- bolt

If you got one of the recent trucks out of Meade without the beds on them, I would not be shocked if there's no locker in it. However, my experience with trucks like those is that they still have 4.56's to match the front axle.

    M819 towing M35A2 (pics)

The 5-ton operator's manual covers towing with the wreckers.

    M36a2 bed

Six bows come in a standard 5-ton kit with the 14ft bed versus the 12ft bed of the deuce. If it is 3-piece kit (cover and separate end curtains) you can use the cover, but it'll just be a foot longer on each end than a deuce kit. Looks kind of funny, but still usable. If it's one-piece, it won't...

Tipper rode hard and put away wet.

For a minute I thought you were bashing Al Gore's wife...:-D I like the ratchet strap to the fender.

What Model - Dually CUCV Pickup

The payload was increased to 4,000 lbs (evenly distributed of course).

What Model - Dually CUCV Pickup

CD 30903. M1028A2 or M1028A3, probably the former. Tailshaft is hard to find as it was only on longbed civilan K30's, unless it is an A3, then it's on K20's...

    DANGER towing 2 105s in-line DANGER

A wonderful display of the American attitude that masquerades as "liberty", ignoring the fact that with liberty comes responsibility. I've got news for you. Owning something does not give you the right to endanger the lives of others by using it irresponsibly. I own my guns and bullets. Does...

    Production numbers?

I don't know exact numbers, but there were realtively few. I have personally seen about a dozen over the years and one just sold on GL last week. The truck in my avatar is one. I have never seen a M1028 with the 200-amp system that was NOT a 1987, although that doesn't mean they were never made.

    glow plug relay

Wellman G-070's. The CUCV does not use true 24V plugs.

    GL ads are back

I'll preface this with: Here's my 2cents... Sellers post ads. They are advertising for themselves. Maybe the policy should just be against non-sellers posting advertising for items? Period. Now, on the age old question of "not being able to post links is a double standard".... :soapbox...
