    Making Biodiesel

It isn't that hard. From the Fryer to the fuel tank is a good book to start out with. I have made a few batches but now I just heat to remove water, and centrifuge to remove any crap, then I blend it with a little diesel. Works great and my CUCV and Benz love it. The methanol and lye are...

    Drive Shaft U-Joint Fail

Yes civi driveshafts can be used. I have a civi rear driveshaft in mine for over 2years.

    Injector tip coking

I suggest using a centrifuge to clean your oil. I have no coking problems. I do however add a little diesel to my mix about 10 to 20% summer and 30-40% winter.

why CUCV is better than a Deuce (just fun)

Cucv better for a daily driver but if TSHTF I'd want a Deuce.

    At war with my neighbors...

Agreed... Making trouble just for spite is not the way to go in my opinion. Be the bigger person and just keep on keeping on. HOA's can be a huge PITA but there is no need to go looking for trouble.

    My first heartbreak...

+1 to what they said...not the easiest thing to do just take your time. I have change out 3 of the 4 I need to do so far. LKQ or any other (pick a part) type place will probably have these parts. I got two and a center console for 40$[thumbzup]

Could running out of fuel kill the fuel pump?

I am assuming you have tried to start it with no joy? The boating section in ours is back where the rifles and fishing gear is.

Could running out of fuel kill the fuel pump?

That looks exactly like what I have seen in the walmart boating section. We have a superstore though maybe yours is smaller and doesn't have everything.

Could running out of fuel kill the fuel pump?

Could also be a leaky filter base. I did the conversion to a spin on filter as they are cheaper and easy to pre-fill with diesel. . If you had no bubbles before (coming from the fuel line before the filter then it has to be a filter leak) Wally world has that kit also in the boating section. I...

    Deuce runs only at idle

maybe the cable is off the throttle linkage. If you pull the shutoff too hard it may break the cable for example.

Could running out of fuel kill the fuel pump?

If the filter primes and no joy there could be issues with your injection pump but I think that will solve your problem. If not PM me.

Could running out of fuel kill the fuel pump?

Prob less than 10$ for 2 hose clamps and the bulb (Walmart) and a 6" section of fuel hose. Not complex at all...just remove the line that comes from the tank/mechanical fuel pump at the filter housing and insert the pump or pump bulb in that with a hose clamp around it insert new hose piece...

Could running out of fuel kill the fuel pump?

+1 on a electric fuel pump for saving the batteries. Losing prime (just from changing the filter) can often be hard on the batteries and starter. Why not just put an inline electric or boat type fuel bulb. Since you have pulled air into the entire fuel sytem you need to put about 5 gal in an...

    Not Getting Fuel

Or get a 12v diesel pump and put it inline between the mechanical pump and the filter, run a switch to the inside and run it until the filter fills up. Makes filter changes real easy.[thumbzup]

    change in oil pressure

If there is no oil dillution, what grade oil did you put in? It may have thinned excessively under heat and pressure. I always use Rotella 15W40 and add a little lucas to it.

    WVO salt and glycerin

Well the chemical reaction that happens when you make biodiesel (transesterfication)changes the molecule so that the heavy fats (glycerine) fall to the bottom of the tank. I don't think this happens with salt. Personally using WVO that is centrifuged seems to get out most of the real heavy...
